April 30th is the day the Dutch celebrate Queen's Day. One of the activities is a nationwide free flea market, where people can sell their secondhand stuff. For collectors it's an ideal oppertunity to find things for whatever they collect. This year my wife and second eldest son joined me on the hunt. After six hours of 'sniffing around' we ended up with 3 consoles, a handheld, 5 accessories, 84 games and 4 bags with kids clothing. (My wife and I have six kids, so the money she saves with buying secondhand clothes, I spend on video games, haha)

We arrived at seven in the morning and most of the sellers already had taken place. I told my wife I wouldn't spend more than 2 euro on a single game. Had to make an exception later, since I promised my two youngest kids both a NDS Pokemon game. From one of the first sellers I bought two XBoX360 games for 2 euro each. Further on a lady had a GameCube with several games for sale. Picked it up for 10 euro. We moved on but then the 'GameCube lady' yelled I forgot something. She gave me a cd-wallet with some loose GameCube games in it, thanks!

We continued and I bought several PS1, PS2 and XboX games at different sellers for 1 euro each. After spending half an hour trying to find my wife (we went in different directions without telling each other and she doesn't have a mobile phone) we stopped at a boy who sold his GameCube with GameBoy player and three games for 10 euro! After he explained me how everything works he grabbed a plastic bag and said that it came with the GameCube too. I looked in the bag and saw more GameCube games and also some loose GBA games. All for 10 euro, a real bargain! Our journey continued and I bought a loose SNES with nine games and an action replay for 15 euro. Further on were two old ladies selling a boxed GBA with three games. One of the ladies asked me how much I thought it was worth. Before I could answer the other lady said: 5 euro... Deal! We moved on and while my wife was digging through piles of clothes I talk to a guy who had two boxed G-con guns along with some PSP games for sale. He asked 10 euro for one gun and 5 euro for a PSP game. I told him I was interrested in both guns and a PSP game, but that I only had 17 euro left (I know, it's bad to lie) Lucky for me he agreed!

Along the way I got more PSP games for 2 euro each. We had walked around some time now and the weight of the bags started to make my shoulders feel like they would seperate from my body. We deceided to bring the stuff back to the car, get something to drink and eat, and start a second round. After a long deja vu, we noticed an area we missed out on our first round. I still had to buy some NDS pokemon games since I had  ignored the ones that cost 7.50 euro or more. My 'be patient, there will be cheaper ones' attitude didn't pay off this time, so I deceided to invest a little more in the NDS games. A boy and his father had five NDS games for 7.50 each. I asked what the games would cost me if I bought all five of them. Too bad they only wanted to go as low as 35 euro, with a pink backpack for my daughter for free. At least I had some pokemon games! We deceided to go home and on our way back we stopped at a lady who had six GameCube games for 2 euro each. Took them all. Looking back, it was a very succesfull day: nice sunny weather, nice company and nice finds.

About Super Monkey Ball 1&2: In the cd-wallet I bought was a loose copy of Super Monkey Ball 2. Among the last six GameCube games I bought was a CIB Super Monkey Ball 2, at least that's what I thought. At home I discovered that the box of Super Monkey Ball 2 had a Super Monkey Ball disc in it. Lucky for me I had the correct disc in the cd-wallet, swapped the discs and now it's complete again.

Japanese game is Hokuto no Ken 6.

That's a fantastic grab on Mega Man X2 (NTSC). The game alone is worth close to $50USD.

Thanks for the info! I don't think I ever gonna sell (parts) of my collection, but it nice to know what some things are worth.

Wow, that is a lot of stuff.  Awesome score!

That is a really fantastic haul! It sounds like that is the kind of thing I'd love to find around here.

Somehow I missed this blog until just now. That is quite the impressive haul. All sorts of good games and good prices too!
