E3 has come and gone and, as usual, none of the content in our episodes is going to be breaking news. But we thought it was important to talk about and give our perspectives on. One other note, we are currently using free hosting on PodOmatic, which only gives us so much space. With this episode, we are over that limit. To keep it going until we figure out a long term solution, I have deleted some of the earlier episodes, but will have some links posted in the thread on RF Generation so you can download them if you would like. 0:00 - Intro 1:10 - The Others 8:20 - Microsoft 24:55 - Sony 43:25 - Nintendo 1:07:48 - Game Shout Out! 1:12:29 - Top 5 and Outro As always, you can comment in the forums, comment in this blog post, e-mail us, and even call us. We hope to be able to take your quick questions over any subject via e-mail at podcast@rfgeneration.com. You can also call us and leave a message! We can play your question or comment in the episode and we'll even respond to it! That number is (318) RFG-TIP5 or (318) 734-8475. Awesome show! I like listening to your show because it is nice to hear someone talk about games.

Guys, you are not alone. I feel same way.. It's gift and curse. I'm always wishing that it rains on the weekends, so i DONT have to go tag sailing, lol.. there's just no way that I can't go tag sailing out on a nice saturday morning... because I always find such great deals when I'm out.
I too also think about what deals I'm missing out on, on the weekends I have other obligations.... maybe we should open up a support group for gaming deals anonymous (GA meetings?)...lol My girlfriend also think's I need therapy....luckily I'm able to bribe her to come tagging with me by buying her nice girly things when were out =)
ahhh, I'd love to stop, but there's no way I'm passing up the deals I find... Einhander for $1 anyone?? and thats just one of hundreds =)
... and the hunt continues! Arrrrrr meee matey!

..as I always say, I wish sales around here were anywhere near as nice. $10 for sports games, anyone?

good show guys. Though I don't find Vita as bad a name as most. At least it means SOMETHING (life). WTF is WiiU? C'mon!
|
As I mentioned, I think that we'll get used to it, but the Wii U name kind of makes sense. No one really remembers why they chose Wii as the name, but it's established. Wii U is takes that established brand and adds to it, similar to Nintendo Entertainment System + Super.
|
As long as they keep the Nintendo name attached to the system its an established brand though. Just makes the 16-30ish male demographic feel weird asking the clerk to get one for them if you ask me. And that is a big demographic you dont want to make uncomfortable. Not that that'll stop many sales.
Great episode as usual guys!!
|
@Crabmaster2000: "Can I get that new Nintendo console please?" Who needs to be uncomfortable when you can just avoid the name completely? I agree though - I would never ask for it by name.

As much as the world has changed, our still somewhat niche spot as gamers has adapted to the times as well as the games. We have created our online museum of our past. We share our experiences about the present. And we will evolve together as the gaming community continues to change. I hope to write about some of my experiences with gaming, as well as on some topics that were not directly relevant to me, but to the community or you personally. |
