Hey everyone! Last minute show idea popped up. We wanted to get the community's input on some quick topics that you want us to talk about. Everything and anything about games: news, retro games, social effects of gaming on society, you name it!
The only problem is that we kind of came up with this on short notice, so you essentially have until tomorrow night... yeah... We dropped the ball. But we'll be sure to mention you in the podcast right along with your topic! Thanks!

How about a little commentary on save games on the cloud, now that PS+ members have it? Do you think MS will follow and will this be the standard in the next gen? Upsides/Downsides?

One thing I've always wondered is how Super Mario Brothers 3 is clearly the consensus for best NES game ever. Not to say that it's a bad game at all, but you couldn't save and there wasn't a password system so you had to do the whole thing in one shot.
I think it would be cool if you went back and looked at some games that are considered the best ever and judged them by today's standards.

How long is the topic going to take? Some are far more easy to cover then others. If it's just a quickie, that's a bit hard to think up short notice.

@Fuyukaze: We thought it would be fun to do this to break up the rhythm a little and chat about a bunch of different things. It will probably make up the majority of the episode. Any topic, short or long, will work.

I'd like to hear thoughts on the future Smithsonian game art exhibit.
It seems like it has only been within the last 5(10 tops) years that video games have moved from just being a pop culture thing to being more respected and recognized as being actual art.

How about you guys talk about your favorite games of all time - kinda like a "desert island" thing. What was the first game you played that made you think "this is gonna change my life"? What games stand out in your childhood - don't have to be the best graphics, best sound or anything, just which games stand out and for what reasons. Did your best friend have an Intellivision and you got hooked on B-17 Bomber like I did? I always enjoy listening to people talking from the heart, not necessarily the brain.

I'd like to see more staff interviews or even a phone Q&A on features of the site both currently available, those in the works (that can be spoke of) and what both members and staff would like to see.
For a short feature, the top 5 game picks by staff wouldn't hurt either.

don't take this the wrong way, but please don't do a "favorite games of all time" thing. It's just really overdone. That topic can easily work its way into another broader topic, but to actually make that the topic is just kind of an easy way out.

As much as the world has changed, our still somewhat niche spot as gamers has adapted to the times as well as the games. We have created our online museum of our past. We share our experiences about the present. And we will evolve together as the gaming community continues to change. I hope to write about some of my experiences with gaming, as well as on some topics that were not directly relevant to me, but to the community or you personally. |
