Planet Comicon http://www.planetcomicon.com is in town this weekend. There were plenty of comics, movies, and collectibles to be had as well as many artists showcasing their talent. Here's what we picked up yesterday.

All of my pictures are links because it appears that the links are broken when I try to directly link to them from Picasa. If I get it figured out, I'll get it changed.

Found this stuff at the biggest game seller in the entire place. A Japanese Dreamcast arcade stick, Mega Man (NES), Mega Man 2 (NES), Tuff E Nuff (SNES), The Rocketeer (SNES), and Operation Logic Bomb (SNES).

This was just sitting on top of a bunch of common NES and PS2 games. It's sealed with the Sex Wax.

On the left is Barnabas Collins from Dark Shadows and on the right is a kid version of Leatherface vs. Jason. That one is going to be a gift to my mother-in-law.

Upper-left is the variant cover for Planet Comicon. Lower-left is the first season of Law & Order on DVD that we picked up for $4. Lower-right is a special edition #1 of a comic called Transmetropolitain.

This is what was on the upper-right of the last picture. A guy there made zombie-themed birthday cards. We got this one for my sister-in-law.

These three were done by Rob Granito. He had a lot of cool pieces.

These two were done by Greg Horn. Again, he had a lot of very cool artwork.

This is an original (not a print) piece by Tommy Castillo. It looks very nice framed.

This is an autographed picture of Mira Furlan from Babylon 5 and LOST. She was very nice and happy to talk to people.

Lou Ferrigno was there as well. For some reason, he signed his crotch. Big guy and happy to talk to people.

Comicon is still going on today, but I'm not sure if we're going to make it back. If we do, I'll put up a second part.

As much as the world has changed, our still somewhat niche spot as gamers has adapted to the times as well as the games. We have created our online museum of our past. We share our experiences about the present. And we will evolve together as the gaming community continues to change. I hope to write about some of my experiences with gaming, as well as on some topics that were not directly relevant to me, but to the community or you personally.
