Last time, Miles Edgeworth called in a surprise witness who could supposedly implicate Bickman in stealing a Blue Corvette! Who is this witness?! Let's find out!
Bickman: This cannot be happening!
Miles: State your name and occupation for the court, sir.
Mario: It's a me, Mario! I'm a plumber!
Bickman: Why, Mario?! I've been your biggest fan for years!
Phoenix: Objection! The prosecution has put the witness up to this through Blackmail!
Judge: Where is the proof, Mr. Wright?
Phoenix: Ummmm........
Judge: Uh-huh.
Miles: Witness, tell the court what you saw.
Mario: I witnessed Bickman break the window of a Blue Corvette, jump through it, and hotwire the car. He then proceeded to drive off.
Redd: (Under his breath) These claims are bogus! We have to do something!
Zagnorch: (Under his breath) What can we do? And where is Slackur?
(Suddenly, Slackur bursts through the doors of the courtroom)
Slackur: Stop!!
Judge: What the...?
Slackur: Your honor! That witness is a phony!
Miles: You can't prove that!
Slackur: Yes I can! I can also prove that the Santa in this courtroom is a phony!
Judge: (Sigh) Get on with it then, the bar opens soon.
Slackur: It's true that I did sneak out of this room, but I did so for good reason. Look who I found tied up in the Janitor's closet!
(Santa and Mario walk into the room)
Zagnorch: Oh...
Shadow: My...
Redd: Science!!!
Zagnorch: ....Science?
Redd: Yeah, I say that because--
Zagnorch: Doh, forget it! What is this?!
Santa: This evil impostor locked me and Mario here up so that he could accuse these people of bogus crimes! And he was led to--
Evil Santa: Shut up!
Judge: Led to what?
Santa: He was led to do this by that Mario-Impostor, all for vengeance.
Redd: Vengeance for what? And who is he really?
Santa: (Uses his Christmas Magic to reveal the Impostor's identity)
Redd & Slackur: YOU?!
The Grinch: Pah! Yes, it's me!
Bickman: Holy shit!
Zagnorch: Redd WASN'T lying last year!
The Grinch: Ever since that day, I've been living out in the cold! They're little stunt of taking those presents ruined EVERYTHING! I stole those presents so that I could sell them to make end's meet! But when they took them back, I got evicted and have been out in the cold since then! I've been working hard all year to plot my revenge!
Redd: They weren't yours to begin with you thief!
The Grinch: So what?! Thievery makes the world go 'round!
Slackur: Your sick!
Zagnorch: Yeah, let's get him!
The Grinch: No way! I ain't going to jail! (Runs away)
Bickman: After him!
(They all chase after him)
The truth has come out! What will happen?! Will The Grinch escape our heroes' fury?! Will he be met with justice?! Why didn't Izret speak up this time?! Find out, in the exciting conclusion to this whole convoluted thing on December 24th!
Also, forget the Disclaimer. Seems to be a lost cause by this point.
Last time, our Heroes, the RF Gen Gang, were dragged against they're will to court to face judgement for some bogus crimes. Will they be able to get out of this mess? Find out now!
Shadow Kisuragi (Shadow): Your honor, my friends couldn't have done those things!
Judge: One more like that and I will hold you in contempt of Court, Mr. Kisuragi!
Shadow: Sorry...
Miles Edgeworth: Mr. McKnight, where were you on the night of June 21st, 1989?
Redd: Probably sleeping in a crib, you idiot! I was only 1!
Miles: That's no excuse!
Redd: What the hell is wrong with you?!
Judge: Order in the court! Defense, you will restrain your client's attitude!
Phoenix Wright: Redd, calm down. Let me work.
Redd: Tch. Fine. (Under his breath) -Bleep- Judge...
Judge: I heard that.
Redd: Shit...
Judge: Do you have anyone to call to the stand, Mr. Wright?
Phoenix: I do, your honor! The defense calls this completely credible person to the stand! (Signals someone from the crowd of people in the court-room)
(A rather large man approaches the stand)
Izret: Is that Jago from Killer Instinct?
Redd: Suddenly, I have a lot more faith that we will win. (Smiles)
Phoenix: State your name and occupation for the court, sir.
Jago: Jago. I am a Monk from Tibet.
Phoenix: How do you know my client and his friends?
Jago: Redd frequently chooses me to win his battles in Killer Instinct.
Phoenix: I see. Can you confirm his innocence in this case?
Jago: Absolutely. Redd is a heroic man who would not oppose the law without proper justification. Besides, he was with me having a soda last week, so he couldn't have done this.
Miles: But...didn't this happen 25 Years ago?
Jago: Redd would have been 1 back then. As such, it would be impossible. What's more, Evil Santa--
Santa: Hey!
Jago: --said this happened last week. I rest my case.
Redd: This is too awesome.
Judge: You may step down Mister...ummm...Jago.
Jago: (Steps down from stand)
Judge: Okay Mr. McKnight! It is clear that your innocent, so you are clear.
Redd: Yes!!
Judge: Next case?
Miles: Mr. 101, please approach the stand.
Izret: Sheesh...
Miles: Mr. 101, where were you 5 years ago, on the night of December 16th?
Izret: I was--
Miles: OBJECTION! Your lying!
Izret: I didn't even finish my--
Miles: Dut dut dut! Your lying!
Izret: .......
Phoenix: Your honor, if I may call a witness...
Judge: Call them, Mr. Wright.
Phoenix: Come here. (Signals another person)
(A man garbed in yellow gear approaches the stand)
Izret: What the...?
Phoenix: Name and occupation, sir?
Scorpion: Scorpion. I am a Ninja.
Phoenix: And can you verify that Mr. 101 did not commit the crime of murder?
Scorpion: Yes, because I killed Sub-Zero.
Phoenix: The defense rests.
Judge: Very well. Bailiff! Take this...Ninja...and throw him in Jail!
Scorpion: Ninja Vanish! (Vanishes)
Judge: Oh. Ummmm...Mr. 101, you are free to go.
Izret: Nice.
Judge: Mr. 2K! Approach the stand!
Bickman: Okay...
Redd: (Whispers to Zagnorch) Hey, where'd Slackur go?
Zagnorch: Good question.
Miles: Your honor, I have a witness who can confirm that Mr. 2K stole that car!
Judge: Very well. Call them in.
Miles: Witness! Come forth!
(Someone approaches Miles)
Bickman: No way...!!
Redd: Hooooo, boy...
Izret: Okay, now we're -Bleep-.
What surprise witness has Miles Edgeworth called in? Who could possibly implicate Bickman in this case?? Where did Slackur go?! What is the point of all this dumb foreshadowing?! Find out on December 22nd!
DISCLAIMER: As always, this is a work of fiction. The RF Gen Gang is not guilty of any of this stupid crap.
NOTE: It has come to my attention that no one really likes the idea of my Christmas Stories every year, so this will be the last one. Yes, I am really breaking the tradition. No one likes them anyway. I am only writing this last one to even out the number of them.
Redd: (Silence)
Izret: Uhhh, Redd? Why aren't you preparing for your usual Christmas Story?
Redd: I got nothing this year.
Zagnorch: What?! You always have some crazy tale to tell us! You must have something!
Redd: Not really.
Izret: But...
Redd: And aren't you belittling me every year for telling them, Izret?
Izret: Well, yes, but...It's a tradition!
Bickman: Make one up!
Slackur: Yeah!
Redd: Fine, fine...
Shadow Kisuragi (Shadow): Here we go again.
Redd: Twas the--
(Suddenly, a cloaked figure breaks in through the window, followed by several others)
Shadow: What the...?
Bickman: Who are these guys?
(The cloaked figures remove they're cloaks, revealing...)
Izret: Santa and his elves?!
Zagnorch: What the hell?!
Santa: Ho Ho Ho, you guys have been very naughty!
Redd: Uhhhhhh...what?
Santa: Redd, right? You fought the law and won.
Redd: ......No I didn't.
Santa: And you! (Points to Slackur)
Slackur: What?!
Santa: You kicked the Grinch off his mountain! The ensuing fall broke 16 of his bones!
Bickman: Son of a...I knew that story last year was true!
Slackur: He's lying! The disclaimer even said--
Santa: As for YOU Bickman...
Bickman: You don't have anything on me.
Santa: (Pulls out list) You thief'd a Blue Corvette from some 90s band.
Bickman: I did not!
Santa: And Izret, your wanted for over 100+ Fatalities directed at some guy named...(Glimpses at list) Sub-Zero.
Izret: Oh, come on!
Santa: Zagnorch--
Zagnorch: This should be good...
Santa: Your crime is your existence.
Zagnorch: .........What...the...hell...?
Santa: I'm taking you all to the supreme court!
Redd: No way you greasy old freak! We're staying here!
(Screen flips to reveal the same scene)
Redd: See? We're still here.
Santa: Either you come with me, or you all die here.
(Screen flips to reveal courtroom)
Redd: Ah, crap.
Judge: Court is now in session!
Phoenix Wright: The defense is ready your honor.
Miles Edgeworth: As is the prosecution your honor.
Zagnorch: Redd, I can't help but think this is somehow your fault.
Redd: Me?!
Judge: Silence! Defense, control your clients!
Phoenix: Will you guys shut up?! Not a word! Keep quiet, and I can get you guys out of this!
Redd & Zagnorch: Fine...
Phoenix: Ahem...your honor, these claims against my clients are completely meritless.
Judge: How so?
Phoenix: This piece of evidence proves it! (Pulls out a Laptop and brings up a webpage on the internet) Look at this webpage, your honor.
Judge: This is Santa's Tumblr Blog. It says that your clients did it.
Phoenix: Your honor, you can't believe everything you read on the internet. That's how World War 1 got started.
Bickman: We're screwed...
Izret: Yep...
Will the RF Gen Gang get out of this mess? Will Evil Santa win the day? Did World War 1 get started because of the internet? Will our younger readers get this reference? All this and more on the next part of A Christmas Story 4, coming December 20th!
DISCLAIMER: This is a work of fiction. The only thing the RF Gen Gang is guilty of is loving Video Games.

Grand Theft Auto V is essentially a port, but with new features added for the PS4 Release, for example, it now has a First-Person View Mode, but I only enjoy that for shooting, because I've never been any good at driving cars in games in First-Person. Anyway, apart from that, they basically made a good game even better, so if you have yet to play this, now is a really good time to play it.

This thing is about Ninja Girls who fight other Ninja Girls in an effort to strip they're clothes so that they may save the world. Yes, that's really the plot. What did you expect from Japan? Anyway...it plays exactly like Dynasty Warriors, only with more customization and story thrown in. That being said, it could get repetitive for most people, but since I like that kind of gameplay, I enjoyed it a lot.

Ha...here we go with this stuff again. Akiba's Trip for the PS4 is another port with more features. Now included is a "Toy Box" Mode that starts you off with one of every item to play around with to your heart's content. Also included is a Visual Editor so that you may change the color of EVERYTHING in the game. The neatest new feature though, is that when people watch you play on the Live From Playstation App on the PS4, they can interfere with your game, such as making enemies appear, making you lose all your Health, etc. Even if you did play on the PS3 or Vita earlier, you should definitely give the PS4 Version a try.
More gaming adventures coming soon!
Credit to nupoile for helping me come up with a clever title for this entry! Thanks man!
So, apparently, life finally caught up with me, and it said "Wake the hell up!!". What does that mean? Well, it seems I've been so mixed up lately, that I've forgotten about potential trades and deals that I had made. I feel like I've been pulled right out of Hotel California or something.
That being said, if you remember making a deal with me, please let me know so I can look through my PMs and fix any mistakes I may have made. Also, after I complete any trades that were forgotten, I have to drop the trading for a while, as money is very tight, what with me going to New York in December. You ever feel that need to get away from it all sometimes, if only for a little bit? That's me right now.
Now, with that out of the way, I'd like to say that I've also been neglecting my gaming time to a point, hence why you haven't seen many Gaming-Related Blog Entries from me. I also had to give up my new Glove Gaming Series, as I found that it was quite difficult to play any game with it, and quite frankly, that sucks. If a new glove controller for anything ever comes around, perhaps I'll start yet another new series, but for now, nothing is going to come of it.
Well, that about covers it. As I said before, PLEASE PM me if you remember a trade that I've forgotten. Seriously, nothing upsets me more than unhappy customers.

Let me ask you something...if you had been the Boss of Atari in the 70s and 80s, what would you have done different, and do you think that it would have saved Atari as a Hardware Developer? Well, here's how I would have handled it...
DISCLAIMER: This entry is meant for humor (maybe...) and friendly discussion of how things could have been. Try not to take it too seriously. Also, if you happened to notice the time that this was posted, give me a break! It's late at night and I'm bored as hell!
Right then...The first thing I would do is give credit to anyone who made a game for my company. Atari was notorious for not giving credit to game designers. In fact, Secret Quest's box says it's by Nolan Bushnell (Founder of Atari), but this is incorrect. It was actually programmed by Steve DeFrisco.
The next thing I would have done is allowed more time for games to be developed. This move would have probably made Pac-Man for the 2600 and E.T. into good, or at least decent games. These were just two of several games that were rushed out to my knowledge.
Third, I would have toned down the marketing attitude somewhat. While it's true that a Console and it's games NEED to be advertised in one way or another, why waste money on marketing entirely? Today, it costs over 1 Million US Dollars for 30 Seconds of Airtime during the Super Bowl. That's 1 Million Dollars that could have gone to funding better technology and games. Perhaps this is a minor point, but I still feel that it's relevant.
Next, I wouldn't have been a dick to my employees. This may sound harsh, but it's true. At one point, an employee called The Czar (Ray Kassar) called every Atari Programmer "High-Strung Prima Donnas". What a jerk! Another guy, Jack Tramiel, fired over 1000 Employees, including the CEO. Why he did this, I don't know, but it still seems rather much to me.
FIVE! Kill the idea of "Adult Games" right away! This clearly caused much controversy, and many problems for Atari. Despite being unlicensed, they still happened. I would have used all manner of means at my disposal to prevent them from appearing on my console.
Number Six! I'd make sure games were actually finished. There were plenty of games that were never finished or released for the 2600. Each one for it's own reasons, but if I start something, I expect to finish it one way or another. More on this idea, I'd have also spent a ton less money on that Swordquest Contest. I've read that Atari used REAL Jewels to make the prizes...WHY?! Who thought that was necessary?!
Problem Seven! The Supercharger! Okay...I like the Supercharger. It's cool, but it's short supported life was stupid, in my honest opinion. I feel that if more time was taken to learn it, and it used something OTHER than Cassette Tapes, it might have done so much better. I know options for media were limited back then, but I feel that, given enough time, CDs could have been officially utilized with it.
NUMBER NINE--(Coughs loudly)--...5200 Controllers! These things are pretty junky unless rebuilt. Also, the Number Pad is too much. I'd lose it. I could think of at least a couple ways that the Number Pad could have been made obsolete, but that's a minor issue. The big issue is the build quality of these devices. They're Prototypes were built so much better, and received favorable reception. So why then did Atari change them? I would have actually listened to the customer, and kept it the way it was.
Last, but not least...The Epilogue! Perhaps all this is very much easier said than done, but that certainly doesn't mean it's impossible. I feel that if these steps and more were taken, Atari could still be the Giant that it was back in the 80s today. Still, I could be wrong. Perhaps they were doomed from the start, I don't know. As the Tootsie-Pop Commercials say..."The World may never know."
Well, that's all for now. What are some steps that you would have taken in this matter?
Ladies and Gentlemen...Today, I give you the 1st entry of the Sequel to my own Power Glove Gaming Series...As suggested by bickman2k (but with a twist!), it's...

Super Mario 64: Shindou Edition (Shindou is Japanese for "tremor") is a re-release of Super Mario 64 in Japan that supports the Rumble Pak, and has a few extra features, including a Title Screen Easter Egg, where if you press the Z Button, Mario's face will multiply in the background. But enough on that. On to how it played using the Reality Glove...
It wasn't the easiest thing in the world, I can tell you that right now. My wrist is killing me.
See, to control Mario using the Glove, you need to hold your hand sideways, as if picking up a Drink Glass. Then, you need to tilt your hand upwards to move him forward, down to move him backwards, and so on. Because the Glove is so sensitive to movement, this made the game unusually difficult to play.
I first noticed the difficulty while scaling the spiral Bob-omb Mountain to get to the Bob-omb King. Because you'll likely be tilting your hand upwards constantly, you'll find yourself hugging the wall a lo, which slows progress significantly. When you finally do get to the top of the mountain, you'll find yourself having to deal with the King.
As you all probably know, you have to get behind him, grab him, and throw him 3 times to defeat him. Simple, yes? Not this time, friend. Sure, it's easy enough to get behind him the first time, but the second and third times will have you twirling your hand, and in turn, your wrist, trying to get behind him, possibly causing carpal tunnel.
I thought about quitting after beating him, but I wanted to experiment a little further, so I tried the race with Koopa The Quick. Big mistake.
As I mentioned before, you'll be hugging the wall a lot, so once you get to the mountain, the race becomes that much more challenging. You might even fall off the top before hitting the flag! All this being said, this is not a game to play with the Reality Glove.
Verdict: Don't even try it.
Well, that's it for the first entry. Check back soon for more!
Before we begin, I'd just like to comment that it literally took me 20 Minutes to think of a Headline for this entry. Now then...

Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed takes RPGs to a whole new level of weird. Ditching HP for CP (Clothing Points), you have to rip off an opponent's clothing to make them melt in the sunlight (They are Vampires, see...). That, or if they're just a normal person, they'll run away embarrassed. Anyway...this game is really good. It features a near-perfect recreation of Akihabara, Japan's "electronics mecca". However, it's best not to take it seriously, as the plot is mostly satirical. That being said though, it's a convenient excuse to be apathetic towards everything else. Yes, this game is that good.

Ridge Racer for the Vita was not exactly the pick for "Game of the Year" when it released. It depends WAY too much on Downloadable Content, as opposed to unlocking things through actually playing. If you can get past that though (I doubt many of us can), then you'll find a decent game here. I say decent because it also relies too much on Online Play, which I think is stupid. Overall, this game could have been so much better. Then again, Namco has been going down farther and farther these past few years.

Disgaea 4 for the Vita is a port of the PS3 Version. Well, actually, "port" is debatable, as it contains all the DLC and then some from the PS3 Version. Essentially, it's a "Complete" Version of Disgaea 4. It's a near-perfect game with only a few minor hiccups, and it's very well done. There are several references to previous games (and spin-offs), and being a Complete Version, it is packed to the brim and over with content. In this case, you truly get more than your money's worth. It's also easily accessible to newcomers, including a feature called the "Cheat Shop" and what-not.
Well, that's all for now. Also, for those looking forward to the first entry of my new Glove Gaming Series, it will probably be posted later today or tomorrow.
A long, long time ago, Redd used the Power Glove, and created his very own gaming series with it. One day, it broke, and he was upset. However, I, his long-time friend, made this prophecy, from the Dogs, to the Mini-Me (Yes, I am a fan of Goldmember). A New Glove would reveal itself, and our Champion, ReddMcKnight, would rise again. That time has finally come...
Behold...
THE REALITY GLOVE!!

That's right. I am finally returning to my insane, glove gaming adventures, with a new kind of glove on hand.
The estimated date of my Grand Return is sometime this August. Input, Feedback, and Suggestions are welcome. Specifically, should I do the old format and just describe how a game is played with it, or do Videos?
Get ready, for this time...no game is safe!
Have you ever played a game that you didn't think much of at first, but then it ended up surprising you in such a way that you really enjoyed it? While this doesn't happen too often, it's quite enjoyable when it does. Here are the games that surprised me:
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst
I've never been too big on the Naruto Franchise, as I always thought it was kind of stupid (Seriously, what kind of Ninja wears ORANGE???). That being said, when my best friend told me to pick up this game, I was skeptical, but there are times when I trust his judgement better than my own, so I figured, why not, and for the love of Chrono Cross, was I glad I did. This game is amazing. As a fighting game, it's unlike any other, preferring to use a full 3D battlefield instead of the usual 2D. You can move anywhere on the field at will, use deception to fight your opponents, and even break out of they're attacks with ease. I am so glad my buddy talked me into buying this, as I had already finished Killer Instinct, and I needed a new fighter to play.
Phantom Brave
There's an interesting story behind this one: I've always enjoyed Anime, and games that are drawn as such. That being said, when I saw an ad for this one in a Shonen Jump Magazine(?), I was shocked, as I could find no Game Console Logo on the ad, nor could I find any kind of description indicating if this was an Anime or not. Our Internet was practically nonexistent at the time, so I had to get creative to get information on this one. Eventually, I did figure out that it was a PS2 Game, so I bought it right away. At the time, I didn't really like SRPGs, so I was pretty mad when I found that this was one. Still, I played it, and I ended up loving it. It had to be the Story (at first), and later, the unique strategy gameplay.
Outrun
I don't remember when I learned about Outrun, but as I recall, I read that it was a "Driving" Game, as opposed to a racing game. This intrigued me, so when I got a Sega Master System, it was one of the first games that I bought. When I started it up, I learned what it meant when I read that it was a driving game. You simply have to reach a goal within the time limit, passing by obstacles to do it. Unfortunately, it's a lot harder than it sounds, but it's definitely a fun game.
Dance Dance Revolution Extreme
Before I actually played this game, I was well aware of it's existence, but being that I'm kind of big, I never played it, as I figured that I might get hurt or something. One day, I saw a friend playing it, and the catchy J-Pop Music caught my attention. The gameplay itself is tiring and repetitive, so it was definitely the music that drew me in. I got very tired from playing it, but wouldn't stop, as I wanted to hear every song in it. Ultimately, I'm glad I gave it a try, as the Music is indeed really good, but what do you expect from a game about Music? Heh.
Well, those are the games that have surprised me. Which ones have caught your attention when you thought they wouldn't?

On the 1st of May, me and my family celebrated my Birthday, despite it actually being on the 16th. We celebrated on the 1st because my family is going out of town, and I'm staying at home to watch the House and take care of our pets. I got over 600 Dollars in Birthday Cash, so I went to eBay and went nuts with it, just as I was instructed to do. What did I buy? Well, that's a secret as of this writing, as the majority of it is coming in the Mail today (May 5th), and when it arrives, I'm going to post it on the Small Scores Thread. However, as you can tell by the picture above, it has something to do with Sega, which reminds me of when I got Sonic 3D Blast for one of my Birthdays as a kid.
Perhaps I didn't get the best deals on all of this stuff, but they weren't exactly bad deals either.
As of this writing, it is 5:17 AM here in my Hometown, so it's going to be a bit before the Mail shows up, and unfortunately, my patience is very limited.
Anyway, keep your eyes on the Small Scores Thread, and you'll see what I got. I can't guarantee that you'll all be impressed, but you may like it at the very least. I know I will.
(For those who are wondering, I will be 26 on the 16th.)
EDIT: What I got is now on the Small Scores Thread! Go check it out!
NOTE: This is a rewrite, due to the original not publishing correctly. Some sentences may have changed.
Whew...Things have finally calmed down around here, so I've had plenty of free time for gaming. Here's what I've been going at.
Sonic R is a Sonic the Hedgehog Racing Game. Hated by many, I actually enjoy it a lot. I've been playing the PS2 Port on Sonic Gems Collection, an Import Collection of Sonic Games. This game is hated so much by everyone, that there is actually a myth that if you use a certain character in it, you will die. This is crap, of course. It's a fun game with some Characters not seen in any other Sonic game, and it also has catchy music. It's well worth any Sonic/Racing fan's time.
Persona 4 Golden is a remake of Persona 4 for the Vita. Originally released for the PS2, it has new content on the Vita. It is a School Sim/RPG where you have to solve a Murder Mystery while living life as a High School Student. Unlike actual High School though, this is fun, and, you know, NOT LAME. Since you've all probably played Persona 4 on the PS2, there isn't much more for me to say about this one, other than should you be looking to play Persona 4 again, play this version.
Valhalla Knights 3 is an RPG for the Vita. It's the sequel to the 2nd one on the PSP, as well as the Spin-Off on the Wii. It's quite challenging, and described by many as a chore to play. That being said, stupid critics constantly give the games bad scores, and so naturally, people agree with them, and they sell poorly. Still, there are true fans, and while the game can be hard to play, and there really is nothing new here, it's still a fun game. It's definitely not for everyone though, due to some suggestive material (It's rated M for crying out loud!).
Assassin's Creed IV is...actually pretty cool. Initially, I hated the series, but this one really fixed everything. It's open world, it's about a Pirate turned Assassin, there's plenty of things to do, and what's more, it's all based on historic events. Not much more to say here, as you've all probably played it. I've been playing the Wii U Version.
Well, that's all for now. See you all next entry.
Ha! I bet you all thought I was gone for good, huh? Well, I'm not. I've just been busy with stupid crap. Among that stupid crap though, I was able to squeeze in some Gaming time. Here's what I've been playing.
That's Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate. You know, Fighting, Girls, Ninjas, the usual stuff. Clearly not the most popular fighting game franchise in the world, but it's up there. I've already cleared the highest difficulty, so now I mostly play online against friends or whatever player has the unfortunate luck to cross my path. Did I mention that I'm good at this game? Heh.
Dead Island Riptide is the sequel to Dead Island. While the gameplay HAS been improved since the first game, it hasn't been improved much. Still, it's good enough to warrant a playthrough. Definitely an average game, yet I find myself having fun playing it. Then again, who could complain about slaying virtual zombies?
Two Worlds II is the very definition of average...It's Single Player mode anyway. The Multiplayer is where it really shines...in a sense. There is no System Link or Couch Co-Op here, unfortunately. The Multiplayer is Online Only, playing very much like an MMORPG, which may turn some people away. Still, it's Multiplayer can be quite fun, but it IS a chore to play sometimes.
Well, that's it for now. See you all next entry.
Today, I'm here to do a little comparison between two Android Devices: The Ouya and the Nvidia Shield.

VS.

I will be categorizing each device's performance in a specific area as follows:
Space The first thing I noticed about the Shield is that it had twice the space that the Ouya had. The Ouya has 8 GBs of Space, while the Shield has 16 GB. Although both have a method for expanding the space, the Ouya using a standard USB Thumb Drive, and the Shield a Micro SD, the connection between the Ouya and the USB Drive is clearly loose. That is to say, the connection between the two loosened over time, and now it's hard to keep the Drive staying in the thing. As for the Shield, I can't really speak, as I do not have a Micro SD to use with it at this time. Still, because the Shield has more space to spare, it wins in this category.
Updates Okay, this is probably more of a Personal Problem on my part because I hate it when devices are slow, but the Ouya takes FOREVER to update. I swear, I sat around for 2+ Hours waiting for it to update. This kind of stuff makes me sick. As for the Shield, it updates quickly, in less than 5 Minutes from what I've seen so far. In my opinion though, the update speed for the Ouya really is a huge glaring issue that should be fixed, but it probably won't be. The same idea applies to apps for both devices too. On the Shield, it's fast, but on the Ouya, it's super slow.
Apps Okay...I'm not much of an App Person when it comes to devices like this. That is, Android Games? Not really my thing. Still, from what I HAVE seen, the Apps are mostly the same, despite the fact that the Ouya uses it's own store, and NOT the Google Play Store.
Performance Now for the fun part...the performance of the devices! That is, the performance of Apps on each device. I've noticed that there is input lag between the screen and the controller on the Ouya, which makes playing...say, a SNES Emulator, difficult. The thing is, if you press the Jump Button on the Controller, it may wait a split-second or so before the Character on the screen actually jumps. This is nonexistent (or at least close to it) on the Shield. As for the performance of Apps themselves, the Shield clearly wins here, as there is no stuttering, skipping, audio problems, etc., on the Shield. The Shield also has WAY more power than the Ouya. How this could be possible, I really don't know or fully understand to be honest. The Shield is a Handheld, and the Ouya is a Console, but it's quite clear that the Shield is more powerful. For example, the Ouya can barely run a PS1 Emulator, but the Shield runs the same emulator perfectly, and it also ran a Dreamcast Emulator almost flawlessly (Yes, a Dreamcast Emulator. Give that a moment to sink in.) I may be a bit biased in the following statement, but when it ran Conker's Bad Fur Day at a playable level via N64 Emulator...I was pretty damn impressed, to say the least.
Conclusion I know I was harsh on the Ouya, but I really don't think the developers of it were thinking clearly when they constructed it. I mean, they probably had good intentions, but damn, is it bad. Yes, I do favor the Shield, and yes, it does win this Comparison of mine.
DISCLAIMER: This Comparison is an opinion. If you disagree with it, fine, but as always, please keep the comments section of this entry civil.
Let's face it: There were a lot of great Video Games released this year. Some were good, and some were bad. That being said, here are the ones I enjoyed the most:
Shin Megami Tensei IV Shin Megami Tensei IV is a 3DS RPG from the Shin Megami Tensei series of RPGs. (Obviously). Featuring a System similar to Pokemon, you have to persuade Demons to join your party and shape the world into one of your choice. One that falls under the Rule of God, one that falls under the Rule of Lucifer, or one under the rule of Humanity. I've played tons of RPGs in my time, and this one feels like a fresh take on the Genre, despite having been done before. It's quite an improvement over it's predecessor, Nocturne, and it can be made to be a lot easier, or a lot harder, depending on your tastes.
Grand Theft Auto V Grand Theft Auto V is an open-world Action Game. Following in the footsteps of it's successful, but clunky prequel, it makes some subtle, but brilliant changes to the Gameplay of GTA IV, which makes it far more playable than IV, which in turn enables it to be more fun. Despite a poor launch of the online component, Rockstar was responsive to the complaints of the players and made it work, creating one of the more fun titles for 2013.
Pokemon X Pokemon X is the latest game, along with Pokemon Y, in the Pokemon Series of games. Featuring the familiar gameplay we've come to know and love, it added more features to the age-old formula, giving it a fresh new style. It's also quite emotional, especially at the end. I never thought a Pokemon Game could touch my heart with it's story, but this one did, and that's why it is awesome. I can't wait to see how the developers top this one.
Now, what is the one true Game of the Year in my opinion? Well...
Killer Instinct Killer Instinct is the long awaited Sequel to Killer Instinct 2, which was released over a decade ago in Arcades, and honestly, I could never ask for a more worthy sequel to it. This game is fighting game perfection. I've never been too good at fighting games, but I can play this one easily. More content is coming to it next year, and the Ultra Edition includes the original Killer Instinct. To put it simple terms, I love this game, and it is the very definition of awesome.
Well, that's it. See you all next post!
