WHEW! I am back at last! After WEEKS without Internet Service, I am back and better than ever!

...Ahem. On with the story.

So I bought an NES with a BRAND NEW 72-Pin Connector installed, and guess what? It hardly, if ever, actually starts the Games I put into it. Angry

First, the seller sent me a badly damaged NES, and boy was I pissed. Naturally, I contacted the seller, and they sent me the right one, and when I turned it on, it wouldn't start the game. I noticed the blinking screen a lot, so I opened it and disabled the lockout chip, thinking that was the problem.

WRONG! That process eliminated the blinking screen, but the games STILL would not start. So here I am now, still hunting for a working NES. When will I learn to NEVER trust eBay Sellers, even when they have 100% Positive Feedback? Sheesh.

Anyway, if you thoughts, comments, or think you can help me with this, just shout out in the comments. Thanks for reading.

Now, THIS is a game. Super Glove Ball has you guiding a robotic hand through a 3D Maze. In each room, there are tiles you can break. They are above you, below you, to your left, to your right, and even right in front of you. To get to another room, you have to use your hand to grab a ball and throw it in the direction you want to break the tiles you want. You can also use your index finger to shoot lasers, which also breaks tiles. It can also kill enemies.

Me, I really enjoyed playing this with my Power Glove. Despite being an NES Game, it's in complete 3D. You can move your hand towards the TV to move the robotic hand further into the room, and pull it back to bring it back in. Wherever you move your hand, the robotic hand follows your movements. Nowadays, this is probably easy to pull off, but back then, it SCREAMED innovation.

So why is this game hated by so many people? I don't know. This is clearly a fun game, I just think people hated it because it involved the Power Glove, which to this day, gets a bad rap. I read a review of this game by someone on GameFAQs, and they didn't exactly provide valid points to hating it.

Anyway, that's it for this entry. Thanks for reading! Cheesy

Bad Street Brawler. I received this game in the Mail today, and I read that people hated it. I honestly do not see why. It's a really fun, and somewhat unique Beat'em Up.

One of the Two Games developed specifically for the Power Glove, Bad Street Brawler is unique because you get two different moves for every level. It also lets you fight a Gorilla! Come on! In what other game can you fight a Gorilla?! Cheesy

However, the game is kind of...loud. It has lots of loud colors, and one move makes it look like the Main Character is...Well, to be blunt about it, "touching" the enemy.

I didn't let that bother me for long though, as the game is really fun, and it's easy, which I welcomed with open arms after playing many harder games recently.

One annoying thing about it though, is the timer. It stars counting down before you can even move the Character, and if it runs out, your health starts going down in a rapid manner.

Nonetheless, this is a great game, and you should try it whether you have a Power Glove or not. Cheesy

A long, long time ago, a game called Tetris was released to the public. Created by Russian Game Designer Alexey Pajitnov, this game became a worldwide success and phenomenon. The object of the game was to drop blocks to form a line, thus getting rid of the line and making more space in the playing area, and also making the blocks fall faster in the process. It was easy to pick up, but really hard to finish. It's been released on most, if not EVERY console, and to this day, remains popular.

However, one such version of Tetris, titled "TETRIS: The Soviet Mind Game", was lost to time. Why? Here's the story...

Back during the Golden Age of Gaming (The NES Days), a Company called Tengen existed. At this time, the NES had lockout technology to prevent unlicensed games from running on it. Tengen found a way around it, and released several unlicensed games for the console. At some point, Atari Games created TETRIS: The Soviet Mind Game, and Tengen published it. An immediate hit, the game was expected to sell hundreds of thousands of copies...

Unfortunately, Nintendo's own version Tetris was released, and they got pissed at Tengen, sued them, and won. 100,000 Copies of Tengen's Version sold, the game was recalled, and all the copies were destroyed.

As for how many copies exist today, I don't know. I do know, however, that this game is one of the Holy Grails of the NES. Complete copies sell for really high prices.

As for *why* Nintendo got mad, I personally think they were jealous of Tengen's possible chances of success, and didn't want anyone interfering.

The game was only on the shelf for a month before being pulled.

Well, that's it for this sad story. Tengen and it's version of Tetris has since been forgotten by many. If you own a copy of this game, cherish it. It's a really special game, and I would love to own it.

OK, everyone, here's the deal:

My goal is to collect and play 100 different NES Games! With a total of 52 so far, I need 48 more to complete my goal!

How do I plan to do this, you ask? I have absolutely no idea. I'm hoping to score a lot of games through trades, but if I absolutely HAVE to buy them, I will.

Anyway, forgive the short post. I just wanted to let you all know what my ultimate goal was.

Well, I'm off for now. Wish me luck. Smiley

Let's face it: NES Games are TOUGH. Whether they provide a real challenge, or are just cheap, the majority of them are tough. Why? I'm not really sure. Sometimes I wish it was still that way. I feel that many games nowadays appeal to Casual Gamers only when it comes to difficulty. Don't get me wrong now. I know there are some tough ones today, like Demon's Souls for the PS3. Anyway, I'd like some assistance here. I want to compose a list of the toughest, most punishing NES Games out there, and that includes NTSC-J and PAL games. Here's some I personally know of:

Contra
The Adventures Of Bayou Billy
Little Nemo The Dream Master
Super Mario Bros. 2 (J)
Final Fantasy 2 (J)
The Legend of Zelda 2 (US)

That's only a few off the top of my head. If you can think of any more (and I'm sure you will), please shout them out in the comments. Thank you! Cheesy

Ah, the RPG...my favorite Genre. Among them, I have been playing the Dragon Warrior (Now known as Dragon Quest) for years now, and I've greatly enjoyed each one I've played. Anyway, this particular entry is about the first one in the series, Dragon Warrior.

You play the role of an unnamed Hero, who is the descendant of Erdrick, a Hero of the Past. Your goal is to recover the Orb of Light, and destroy the Dragon Lord. Sound easy? It's not!! Cheesy

You have to do all this stuff, like collect items, rescue a Princess, and kill a Golem-Like Monster before you can go and battle the Dragon Lord, but fear not, for it's damn good fun doing it all, and it's well worth your time, despite the high difficulty of it all.

So, why do this at all? Because it's fun. For more fun, here's some Trivia on the game:

-In Final Fantasy I for the NES, there is a Gravestone marked "Here Lies Erdrick". This exists because Square and Enix hadn't become one yet, and were rivals back then.

-There is a Remake for the Super Famicom and Game Boy Color.

-Erdrick is actually the Protagonist of Dragon Warrior III.

-An Episode of Captain N: The Game Master revolved around this game.

Also, if you look at Screenshots of the Japanese Version VS. the US Version, you'll see that some graphics were changed. Besides that, the Japanese Version used Passwords, and the US Version used Battery Backed-Up Saves.

That's all for now. I hope you enjoyed reading this entry!

Did I mention I still love my Power Glove? So much in fact, that I was able to acquire a BOXED one for the Famicom. Granted, I'm a little worried, as the Famicom's Controllers are hard-wired to the thing, and it uses a special expansion port for other accessories. This brings me to the question: Will it use regular controller ports, or the special expansion port? You may be thinking: "If your worried about it, then why did you buy it?". It was a really good price, that's why. Anyway, I can just get a Famicom if it uses the special port. Besides, the Famicom has exclusives that weren't released in the US, which would prompt more stories from me on this Blog. Smiley

On another note, I'll be posting my updated NES Collection Pictures soon, possibly in the next entry.

Oh, and Final Fantasy XIV does not suck. Wink

"BUCKY! Captain Bucky O'Hare!"

I doubt too many people heard these words on Saturday Mornings in the 90s, as it wasn't exactly a popular Cartoon. Based off a comic book, Bucky O'Hare is the story of a Green Rabbit who fights Toads in Space. So, why am I posting this in a Blog about Nintendo Games? Because it got an NES Game!

I first played this game on my Brother's NES at my Dad's House when I was just a kid. I loved every minute of it. I have not played it since, but I'd love to get another chance at it. As I recall, it was a very fun game, and I spent loads of time playing it. Sadly, I could never beat it, as I was just a kid, and it was pretty challenging.

Anyway, the NES game was not the end of Bucky, because as I mentioned before, he had his own cartoon, which sadly, only lasted 13 Episodes. Bucky would not give up that easily though. As if to offer resolution to his Cartoon Series, an Arcade only sequel to the Cartoon Series was released, which details his Final Battle against The Toad Menace.

The Arcade Version was also developed by Konami, but because of it's different story, it was not a port of the NES Game. Like I said before, it was a sequel to the Cartoon Series, and even featured the Voice Actors from the Cartoon, which was pretty cool. Smiley

So, what has become of Bucky since his final battle with the Toads? According to Wikipedia, a 3D Cartoon was produced by the original Comic Book Author. Yes, I did neglect to mention that Bucky started as a Comic Book Hero. Sorry!

Anyway, I would really like to play the NES Game again. If anyone has a copy for sale or trade, could you send me a PM or leave a comment on this entry? I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for reading!

There are a LOT of Unlicensed Games for the NES. One of them is Spiritual Warfare, a game I found to be rather enjoyable. It's an obvious clone of The Legend of Zelda in terms of gameplay, but it's story represents a Christian Theme. I know not many people are fans of Christian Games, but this game is actually decent, to the point of being fun, and no, I'm not just saying that because I'm a Christian myself. Heh. Anyway...

As I mentioned before, this game plays a lot like The Legend of Zelda, but with a few differences. For example, all your weapons (as far as I can tell) are ranged weapons. I have not seen a Sword or a similar weapon since I started it, despite the Box Art showing a Warrior with a Sword. Also, this game is a lot easier, as it was probably intended to be a kid's game. Nonetheless, I found it quite fun. Also, you gotta love the Title Screen:

Yes, that Sword is on fire. Also, notice the "VER 6.1" below it. Not sure what's up with that, but I got a cheap laugh out of it.

Anyway, the game seems to take place in a modern setting, as opposed to a fantasy world. Take a look:

Being a Christian Game, you don't actually *kill* enemies. You throw fruit at them, and the Demon possessing them leaves they're body. Occasionally though, the Demon will come after you, and you can kill it.

One thing that boggled my mind is the fact that the currency is birds, which I honestly did not understand. If this is another part of the Christian Theme, I must have missed something. Smiley

But seriously, this is a fun game, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes The Legend of Zelda, but is looking for a more light hearted experience.

Thanks for reading!

NOTE: This was not intended to be a Review of the game, but a Synopsis. I may write a Review of it at a later time though.

On the last episode of DRAGON! BA--I mean, Finding Nintendo, Redd had said--Nah, I'm just messing with you all. Dragon Ball Z is a good anime, but it takes too long to make it's point. Heh. Anyway, as you all know, I mentioned getting a Power Glove from someone in Japan. That fell through. However, this morning, I made just enough money to buy one. Hopefully, this one doesn't pull an eBay on me and I actually get it. That said, when I get it, I'm gonna post pictures of it. That's it for now. Look forward to the next post. Again, sorry for another short post. My next ones will be better.

As you all know, my last Quest for a Power Glove did not go over so well. I bought one, and the seller refunded my money, as he had already sold it to someone else. The hope that I would get another chance was slim.

I was on Racketboy one morning at around 10:00 AM, and I noticed a new message in my PM Inbox. I figured that it was just another user inquiring about one of the items on my Sell List, as that's what I most often receive PMs about. I quickly noticed that it was about something else. Opening the message, the user who sent it was explaining that Power Gloves were super cheap in Japan. I quickly saw his point, and he offered to send me one, should I compensate him for it.

Fast forward to the next day, he tells me that he's going to the store tomorrow. So I waited for the next day.

Fast forward to today, he tells me he called the store, but the person working there didn't seem to know what he was talking about (He said that the person working there sounded young). Anyway, he said that he'd stop by there "soon". As of writing this entry, I am eagerly awaiting his next message.

I will continue to provide updates here as I get messages from him. Here's hoping I get it. Smiley

As you all know, I love all things Nintendo, but what I love the most out of all my Nintendo Stuff is my NES Collection. It's not that big, but it's getting there. Here's some pictures of it.

I do have lots of other Nintendo Merchandise, but this just happens to be my favorite stuff. I have some pretty obscure stuff, like a Virtual Boy and a Nintendo Anniversary Game Boy Micro. I even have the Super Mario Bros. Movie on DVD! Your probably thinking that I'm crazy for owning that, but I think it's pretty good, and when someone tells me otherwise, I just shrug it off and tell them that that's they're opinion and that it's fine with me. Fun Fact: There's a Super Mario Bros. Anime (Japanese Animation) in Japan, but from what I understand, it was only released on VHS, and it's really hard to find now. Anyway, this post was basically just to show you all my collection of NES Stuff, so I'm gonna stop writing here.

Thanks for reading!

Posted under PowerGlove, NES, Accessory, Quest

This is the not-so-happy story of my quest to obtain a Power Glove.

Many retro gamers are aware of the existence of an item for the NES called the Power Glove. I first discovered this item as a kid, while watching the movie Beethoven (which is really good by the way). It had appeared in the film, being used by one of the kids to play Super Mario Bros. 3. Being just a kid, I thought it was the coolest thing in the world, and I desired one.

Unfortunately, I could not acquire one at this point in my life, because if I recall correctly, they were no longer being sold, as it was not exactly a hot item. So I waited...

Fast forward to the year 2010, I finally saw my chance: There was a complete one, box and all, listed on eBay. I wanted it so bad, that I went on Racketboy, and heavily advertised my sale thread in the IRC Chat Room, which is something I normally don't do, not wanting to put pressure on my customers and all. Luckily for me though, I had stuff that they wanted, and thanks to two customers in particular, I had reached my goal of 80 Dollars, which would allow me to buy it and cover the shipping charges. Take note that I don't have a steady job at the moment, so this kind of cash was not exactly easy to get.

I hurried to eBay, and quickly purchased it. Victory was finally mine...

...So I thought anyway.

About a week passed, and I was waiting rather impatiently for the mail, hoping it would arrive that day. The mail came, but there was no Power Glove. I was growing concerned, so I decided to sign into my eBay Account and send the seller a message, asking if they had shipped it yet.

Before I could start writing the message though, I noticed that I had a new message myself. I decided to check it first. Upon arriving at my inbox, I saw that it was from the seller. I opened it, and was greeted with this:

"I am sorry, but I am going to have to refund your payment for the boxed power glove. I had this item for sale on another site simultaneously with the listing on eBay. It was purchased by a different buyer prior to your purchase here. I normaly don't list on multiple sites, but had listed this on Amazon months ago and to be honest, I had forgotten that it was even on there when I listed it on eBay. I am really sorry for your inconvience in this matter. Thanks for your understanding."

After reading it, I was at a complete loss for words. The item I had worked so hard to obtain, and for so long, was taken away from me in the most unfair way possible. I actually sat there, reading the message over and over again for at least 5 minutes before my anger kicked in.

I just found this to be so wrong on so many levels. Maybe this was just another lost sale to the seller, but to me it was more. Of course, the seller didn't know that, but I was still angry, and to this day, that anger lasts.

Having 80 Dollars in my Paypal Account again, I decided to look for another one. I found a few, but they were all listed at higher prices than what I could afford. I searched for days, but nothing came up, so I finally spent the money on some other NES Accessories.

As I said before, to this day, I am still enraged, and what fuels that rage even higher is the fact that there's not a thing I can do about this. That seller will probably do this to other, unsuspecting customers, and I can't even warn them.

To this day, I continue to search for a Power Glove, despite my fellow Racketboy Member's protests against it. Since I have no money, I can only hope someone will trade me one, which slims down the chances of getting one even further.

Unfortunately, I'm left with the conclusion that I may never get one, but being as stubborn as I am, I refuse to give up until the very end.

Thanks for reading.
