Praise the Sun! With the announcement of Dark Souls Remastered on the latest Nintendo Direct, I felt it might be time to give a full look at a cult classic, and to explain why it makes it pretty high on my "all-time" list. I know I already did a look at what I don't like (link http://www.rfgeneration.c...About-Dark-Souls-3506.php) but I thought it warranted a focused look at the good parts, especially with a re-release on the horizon.

Since it is Christmas time, I figured I would review one of the games that I have the fondest holiday memories of. December 25th, 1997 was the Christmas that I received my first PlayStation, and with it a few games. In my possession at the time was a demo disk, WCW/NWO Thunder, and Jet Moto. While I was a huge wrestling fan, Thunder SUCKED (I'll do a review some other time), so I was left to spend my Christmas playing a game I had not even heard of up until that moment.

Every once in a while, a title comes along and really surprises you...really makes you want to play it start to finish. Golf Story on the Nintendo Switch somehow became one of those games. Golf Story is a golf/RPG hybrid game done in a pixel art style, but that barely starts to describe the adventure you are about to go on.

It is that time again! Extra Life 2017 is upon us, and I though I'd take it upon myself to do a "part 2" to a post I made last year (find it HERE). Go read that, especially if you aren't familiar with Extra Life (and you should be...because you read Zophar53's excellent article HERE]). Last year, our team raised 1905.00 Dollars for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and we intend to try and break that record this year!

Most people do not think of the NES when they think of pinball. They would be very right to forget the small library of sub par pinball games on the otherwise heralded system...but SOMEONE has to play'em right? While it only has a few titles, the NES is certainly one of the places you could play.

After they hyped up fever dream that was Far Cry 3, I really had high hopes for the sequel to one of my favorite gaming experiences in recent memory. I was met with the mixed bag that is Far Cry 4, and somehow I'm not surprised that Ubisoft dropped the ball again...but not in the way they usually do.

We all have that one friend who likes to talk about hypothetical situations while the gang is hanging around, and inevitably they bring up the "What 5 things do you take with you if you were gonna be stranded on a deserted island?". Dark Souls is a game series that many people have very strong opinions about. Tons of people (including myself) love the game, and praise it's innovation in an otherwise stagnant triple-A gaming world. Others despise it, claiming it is "too hard" or not intuitive enough for the normal gamer to jump into. Whatever your stance on it may be, here is a list of mechanics that, for me, are entirely unenjoyable in an otherwise amazing game series.

The latest release from Electronic Arts and Bioware is finally here...and they probably should have waited a few more months! Mass Effect: Andromeda had a rocky review cycle, but as we know, some reviewers wouldn't know a good game if it bit them on the face and asked them to collect three parts of an encoded message. However, in this case, the reviewers were right.
