Hmm... my list is sort of skewed to a system...

1. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - I certainly hope this game kicks major ass, or I will be saddened.

2. Super Mario Galaxy - God, that game simply looks amazing. I certainly want.

3. Super Smash Brothers Brawl - This would be my most desired game, and it will probably also be the game that sells Wiis this holiday season.

4. Guitar Hero 3 - Sorry Rock Band, but I am not buying a new system to play you right now. Maybe later though, when GTA 4 comes out.

5. The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass - This game better be ultra polished when it finally comes out. I also hear that upon buying the game your farts will smell like potpourri. It's just that magical.

1. NiGHTS: Journey into Dreams -  learn to fly again
2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - following the exponential awesomeness of the past two... this one is awesome^3
3. Halo 3: Legendary Edition - Halo 2 was pretty and satisfying, but felt a bit unpolished as a result of the short production term.  Halo 3 will be done right.
4. No More Heroes - another Suda51 title with a beam katana (lightsaber knockoff), excessive blood, and unique art style

I'm going to cut this list short because I don't have enough money to want half this list, let alone a spankin' new console to go with Halo 3.

1. Mass Effect - I completely agree. Bioware never disappoints and everything I've seen of this title thus far has been incredible!

2. Halo 3 - As long as it still offers the 4-player Splitscreen, this will become the next party game of choice. The Beta played very well and the graphics definitely got a boost. And that's just scratching the surface.

3. Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Game of the Year edition. With the Shivering Isles and Knights of the 9 Quests content included, it was a no-brainer for me to trade in my old copy to reserve this one. $40 more content for the same price as the original game? Sure, I'll buy that.

4. Bioshock - Another title that just keeps impressing me with it's visual style, action, open-endedness, and gameplay. This could be game of the year material.

5. (tie) Call of Duty 4 and Rock Band - CoD 4 needs to have the 4-player SS included in the game or else I'll just wait for it to drop in price...otherwise, it still looks like an outstanding game! Rock Band, though pricey, may blow the doors off of Guitar Hero if it's even half of all it's cracked up to be. Guitar Tour AND a Drum Tour campaign mode? Damn!

For games coming out this year:

1. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations - The first two are among my favorite games ever, and this should be more of the same.

2. Endless Ocean (AKA: Forever Blue in Japan) - This game looks like pure relaxation and tranquility. I have a feeling this will be one of the biggest cult hit games of this generation and will command a large price tag on eBay in the future.

3. Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - First four were amazing. I expect no less of the fifth.

4. Skate - EA might just be reinventing skateboarding games as we know it.

5. NiGHTS: Journey Into Dreams - I never played the first one, but I hear great things about it. I just hope this one is as good as the Saturn original.

6. Sam and Max: Season 2 - OH HELL YES!

For games with an unspecified release date.:

1. Disaster: Day of Crisis - That is if Nintendo ever releases it...

2. Sadness - Again, if Nintendo ever releases it...

3. Afrika - Looks like Endless Ocean in how it plays, but this time in Africa and on PS3.

4. Cing's upcoming Wii game - Hotel Dusk was incredible, and I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeve for Wii.

5. Team Ico's upcoming PS3 game - It's the team responsible for two of the best games of last generation. What more can I say?!

1. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion Wars - All the greatness of the original, but with expanded story, revamped graphics and finally the ability to kick your friends asses via wi-fi.

2. Rock Band - I'm a huge fan of all the games the Harmonix team has made, and this one looks to be the biggest evolution when it comes to a Music/Rhythm game... even if I may have to buy a  new system to play it.

3. NiGHTs: Journey Into Dream - I will have to, once again, buy a new system, but it is well worth it for a continuation to an amazing franchise.

4. Super Smash Brothers Brawl - It's a must, what can I really say? Everyone has been waiting for it for a long time, and I feel, like most Nintendo games we have to wait for, it will very well be worth it. Even for those lagging behind the new generation of games.

5. Tie between Guitar Hero III and Zelda: Phantom Hour Glass - I've been looking forward to LoZ:PHG for a while now, and since I am really lacking games for my DS I think it would be a glorious game to get when it comes out. Guitar Hero III, I feel, may not live up to it's predecessors, but some of the songs that will be available on it are just completely worth it (Besides, the whammybar on my Guitar controller died recently, so it gives me more initiative to buy the third game with the controller package.)

1. Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations
2. Gyakuten Saiban 4
3. Gyakuten Saiban 5
4. Dragon Quest 9
5. Dragon Quest 5 (remake)

Aww yea

@BadKarm:
I just learned about the FF Tactics remake last night.  Definitely my favorite PS1 game.  Square has begun to tap a bit more into Ivalice with FF XII, and I would love to see a whole spinoff series for tactics.  For me, a refreshing break from their straightforward RPGs.

Halo 3
Rock Band (for the drums)

There are plenty of games that look awesome but I don't really care when I get them.
