Spaceballs

Extraordinarily sucky. It was like a very bad pantomime with adolescent humour.

Been watching the news all night. The local channels are glue to the coverage about the 35W bridge.

Hope that any fellow Minnesotans here are accounted for and safe.

I've been watching the news a bit too.  I'm no civil engineer, but I'm flummoxed as to why it would come down under a regular load like it did.  There were no fatal flaws in design or construction, and certainly no resonance/aerodynamics phenomena like Tacoma Narrows.  Now for something of poor design, the Twin Cities' traffic layout has always been poor yielding rush hour traffic throughout most of the day.  Maybe they'll correct that mess because this may take a year or two to get resolved.

The traffic on that road was awful. Estimates put the daily traffic on that road somewhere between 100,000 and 140,000 cars per day, and experts point primarily to the high volume of large vehicles that use that route (semis, busses, etc).

Whatever they decide the reason was, this is certainly one of the most tragic and surreal things I have ever experienced. Everyone in both cities will certainly feel the effects of this for years.

Reason for score -- really good movie, but, as much as i love long movies, they drug this out (i know it was a TV thing)....
