A little while ago, I heard fireworks going off outside, which was my cue to pop over to YouTube to watch The NBA Finals trophy presentation ceremony.

Spoiler alert: Steph Curry finally won Finals MVP. Danged well took him long enough.

The Breakfast Club - (1985) - A-
--> Second viewing, very good movie.

Time (mini series) - (2021) - B
--> Interesting mini series starring Boromir...I mean, Sean Bean. A little short, they could've taken this a bit further.

Before I Go to Sleep - (2014) - C
--> Rather confusing memory-loss movie. I'm not entirely convinced by the plot.

Parasite - (2019) - A+
--> Wow! One of the best movies I've seen in the last few years.

Rogue One - (2016) - B+
--> Easily the best of all the new Star Wars movies. Who knew focussing on a good story with believable characters, rather than shoehorning a woke agenda would result in a better movie? /sarcasm.

All the Money in the World - (2017) - B-
--> A bit slow-paced and sombre...

The Shining - (1980) - A
--> Great performances throughout.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - (1986) - B
--> Such a youthful, positive spirited, uplifting comedy.

Downton Abbey - (2019) - B-
--> Continuation on the themes established in the TV series; harmless fun.

Sea of Love - (1989) - C+
--> Decent movie but quite grim and rough around the edges.

The Post - (2017) - B+
--> Solid performances from Streep and Hanks.

Spider-Man: Far From Home - (2019) - B
--> Solid MCU movie, enjoyable special effects.

Get Shorty - (1995) - B+
--> Similar to The Big Lebowski, this movie features an overly complex plot, but does manage to bring things together at the end.

The Fly - (1986) - B
--> Not my favourite genre, but it was OK.

Kick-Ass - (2010) - D
--> What could have been an enjoyable movie is ruined, for me, by mostly unlikeable characters. Especially the main character.

Testament of Youth - (2014) - B-
--> A bit too soppy and wallowing in its own mysery to me, but beautifully filmed.

Blade Runner 2049 - (2017) - A-
--> Stunning visuals with Ryan Gosling in his typical brooding style.

Finding Neverland - (2004) - B+
--> Just the type of character that Johnny Depp plays so well, what's not to like?

Buried - (2010) - B
--> A study in how much can be done with so little.

Green Book - (2018) - B+
--> Excellent period movie with great performances by the two main leads.

Hail, Caesar! - (2016) - B
--> Nonsense movie with great actors and performances, especially George Clooney.

Burn After Reading - (2008) - B
--> Also by the Coen brothers, equally nonsensical plot. This time Malkovich steals the show.

Oblivion - (2013) - B
--> The movie does a great job to create a feeling that "something" is off, which is revealed only later on.

Apocalypse Now Final Cut - (1979 / 2019) - A
--> This version is 3 hours long, containing some great additional scenes (also featured in Redux, but not the original) such as the ones at the French plantation.

I rather enjoyed Steph, Klay and Draymond clapping back at all the doubters and naysayers during the postgame press conference... and a little more at the victory parade a few days later.

ANYway: Thanks to a rather persuasive YouTube video review of the show, I recently started watching Bob's Burgers. I've almost completed the first three seasons; just a few more episodes to go before I dive into year four.

I'm currently in the middle of a John Candy movie retrospective jaunt. Just watched Planes, Trains, & Automobiles and Uncle Buck, and I'm about to fire up Armed and Dangerous. Now I just gotta figure out if I should watch The Great Outdoors or Summer Rental next...

I took a bit of a detour from the John Candy retrospective tour after finishing off Armed and Dangerous, and went  on the Tom "Tiny" Lister retrospective tour with No Holds Barred. Now I wonder if I should watch The Fifth Element next, or Friday...
