Equilibrium - People are killed for showing emotion. Maybe this could have been good. But i have trouble seeing how... Maybe they forgot what constitutes emotion when they came up with the idea?
Branded - What if brands weren't just corporations but living creatures that fed off people? I liked it.
Odd Thomas - Despite owning all the books i never read them. Movie was done really well. Not sure how it compares to the books but i am hoping the rest of them get put into film format.
Hell - Subbed foreign film. I think it was german... can't remember off hand now. Sun went crazy. Emits crazy high heat and people can't go out during the day. Society has broken down as a result of course. Small bands of survivors scavenge for survival.
Crime Secrets of.... - I guess this was/is a British TV series. Was interesting. Pretty insane how lax the laws are in England/Britain/UK/British Islands/Isles/etc. They are/were even lighter in Spain though. Pickpocketing under 400 euros is only a fine and you can only be fined for actually taking something. If you attempt and get nothing no big deal. Try again. Maybe i should move and become a thief. Was very amusing to see "the regulars" and the police playfully banter back and forth. The fact that nothing was edited was also nice.

I remember liking this, but it was mainly for the visual style of the movie. To be frank I thought the movie was a poor modern retelling of
1985
with too much of a Heilein flair.
I too watched Odd Thomas over the weekend. Entertaining, but I have a feeling if I would have been a fan of the books I would have hated the movie, much in the way I feel about John Dies at the End. Oh, well. Hopefully I can find something on Netflix tonight.

John Dies at the End was a decent flick.
My big problem with Equilibrium was that displays of emotion were punishable by death. But everyone is walking around showing various apparently acceptable forms of emotion. I love me some dystopian futures but i just couldn't get into this one.
I marathoned Peaky Blinders on Netflix today. Another excellent Netflix Original. I know House of Cards is supposed to be amazing buthave heard worse things about Hemlock Grove. On the whole though i think the Netflix originals have been top notch. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
I'm starting to run out of educational style programming to fall asleep to... I wish Netflix had a better suggestions feature. I hate that it suggests things i have already watched for example. I wish i could hide those would get put somewhere else.
Video Games: The Movie (is actually a documentary) is queued up but i want to pay attention to that.

Wildest India - Think this was the last of the Wildest series. Apparently the Ganges River has higher levels of oxygen and antibacterials not found elsehwere... in addition to the usual polution that is found everywhere.
Your Inner Fish - Only one episode was really about fish. The 2nd and 3rd where about reptiles and primates primarily. Mostly interesting.
Video Game High School - Seasons 1 and 2. I thought this was great. VGHS: The Movie is apparently all of season 1 just lumped into one viewing.
Nova: Why Ships Sink - Specifically about cruise ships. They are designed to make money and not to be safe.
Hammer of the Gods - Meh. The longer it went the worse it got.
Valhalla Rising - Meh IFC flick.
The Real Story: Indiana Jones - fell asleep halfway through. Indy is supposedly just based on older movie characters. I fell asleep just as they were comparing people from that era to see what facets of the character might have been based on real people.

The Real Story: James Bond - Maybe if i was a bigger bond fan it would have been more interesting.
House of Cards - Season 1 and 2. I'm not anticipating a season 3. Though i would certainly like to see one as i would like to see how events might further play out. Excellent show. I had previously mentioned REALLY enjoying Boss with Kelsey Grammar. This is in the same vein. Less language sex and violence though. Less full screen eyeball shots too though which was a plus.
Peaky Blinders - Season 2 was pleasantly surprised when i saw this listed as already being available since i recently finished season 1. Unfortunately it was just another 6 episode season.
When Aliens Attack - going t finish this up. It is a "how would the world respond to alien annihilation" theory. It is somewhat interesting mostly stupid. "We would want to drop the nuke on top of the ship in an attempt to shield the city from the direct force of the blast." I did like that after launching a nuke an "expert" explained why that would be useless. This was of course after they showed the alien ship taking no damage from the blast but a major city that the ship was destroying obviously was not so lucky. Then they got
really
silly and thought guerrilla tactics would work since aliens would probably be sucking up trees and animals that we could strap C4 to.

Quantum of Solace
- (2008) - B-
--> Definite step down from Casino Royale. More action, less tension. I wonder if the makers of QoS realized what made Casino Royale so good. Some of the "shaky cam" style scenes are terrible.
Troy
- (2004) - A
--> In the afterwake of the Lord of the Rings trilogy success, a lot of other epic-size movies were made. This one is one of my favorites, despite average reviews.
Skyfall
- (2012) - B
--> Still worse than Casino Royale. I found the ending scenes too banal and un-James Bond.
La Beauté du diable
- (1950) - C
--> Boring old French movie about alchemist Henri Faust who wishes to be young again. I enjoy golden age Hollywood movies of the same period, whereas this feels whiny and tiring.
Mission: Impossible III
- (2006) - C+
--> Not as good as Ghost Protocol, though it has its better scenes.
The Amazing Spider-Man
- (2012) - B-
--> The movie itself is ok, just can't understand why we needed it. The Toby Maguire trilogy was so recent, this feels like it's redoing the same thing with too little time in between. Maybe it's for the whole "Marvel extended universe" thing, where the same actors act their characters across different movies, don't know.
Brasserie Romantiek
- (2012) - B+
--> Dutch comedy about different people having dinner at the same restaurant, and their lives.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
- (2013) - A
--> Despite the obvious fan service and extending the original story of The Hobbit immensely, I can't not like it.
Mansfield Park
- (2007 - B-
--> Ok, but could've been better. I kept seeing Blake Ritson as Mr. Elton instead of Edmund, which made his scenes more funny than they should.
Men in Black 3
- (2012) - B
--> Cheezy but fun. I liked how they went back in time, thought it never got as involved as in Back to the Future.
Watchmen
- (2009) - B
--> I'm not familiar with the comic book, so this was all new to me.

Alexandria - documentary about the history of the city. Could have been better. Mostly seemed to focus on a few individuals from the time period and less on the city itself.
Ironclad: Battle for Blood - Ironclad was better. This one they were fighting the Scots the other one they were fighting the the King of England
Family Guy - Starting from the first season and running through to whatever season Netflix has.
Secrets of the Dead: China's Terracotta Warriors - Lined up for my fall asleep to viewing.

Secrets of the Dead: Chinas Terracotta Warriors - Ended up being way better than i expected it would have been. It not only was about the history of the pieces and restoration of them but at the end touched on SCIENCE! For interesting crazy quantum science type stuff relating to this 2k+ year old pigment check out
http://www.magnet.fsu.edu...ssreleases/2006may31.html
Secrets of the Dead: Churchill's Deadly Decision - Didn't know he ordered the navy to blow up the French navy!(2nd largest navy at that time and Nazis were taking over France which would then give them the ships in addition to the ones they had already created/commandeered ) I have no clue how i had never heard about this before... Seemed like if French chain of command took a good offer when it was given they wouldn't have been attacked by the Brits at the start and then wouldn't have had to scuttle their own ships to keep them out of Nazi hands later. Complete waste of time and resources. Good job almost losing the world to Nazis WW2 era French leaders. ANYWAYS! This was also awesome. Included interviews of some survivors.
Zero Hour - Since it has unedited vulgarities i assume this is a Euro TV series. All shows show the hour leading up to major catastrophic events. The oldest thing i have seen on it so far was Chernobyl which was actually shot on site in a destroyed reactor. The people even spoke ruskie! The rest were from the 90s and later.
Family Guy - Into season 5 now. Still not sure how many of them are available on netflix...

Just started watching the Justice League animated show. So good. It's hilarious how much Superman gets owned in it (although he is my favourite, so not that funny...
