Finished The 4400. I'm guessing they knew it was getting canceled. Kinda felt like they were rushing to a conclusion. On the plus side not a complete WTF cliff hanger for a series finale.
Picked Heroes back up again. Just about halfway through season 1.

My recent Commodore 64 acquisition led me to watch YouTube videos on the subject of the C64.
One particular piece stood out: A BBC segment where a man tries to show just how cool the Commodore 64 was as a gaming platform to a couple groups of young'uns.

I really need to post about some of the movies I've seen before I forget what they were about.
The Big Sleep
- (1946) - B-
--> Classic Hollywood movie with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall about...something. The plot is quite complex and it's been atleast 3 weeks ago since I saw this movie.
Troubled Water
- (2008) - B+
--> Great drama about a guy who wrongfully gets accused of repeating a crime commited in the past.
Intolerable Cruelty
- (2003) - B
--> Mostly typical romcom tripe, but something about a movie with George Clooney that always make them atleast mildly entertaining.
Capote
- (2005) - A
--> Terrific movie starring the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Ella Enchanted
- (2004) - B-
--> I should really rate this lower, because the film doesn't take itself seriously for one moment, but I can't. I kept picturing Hugh Dancy as Daniel Doronda, a 2002 series I recently saw, which was quite amusing by itself.
Adventures in Babysitting
- (1987) - B
--> If anything, this film feels like a rehersal of what would become Home Alone. It's very similar in style, which isn't surprising as they're both directed by Chris Columbus.
The Broken Circle Breakdown
- (2012) - C--
--> A Belgian drama, nominated for Best Foregn Language Film at the oscars no less, but I don't like it one bit. I find it incredibly boring. These "we're sad during pretty much the entire movie!" dramas typically have very little actual plot. This one is no exception.
Pedal
- (2001) - B+
--> Interesting documentary about bike messengers in NYC.

I've been winding down my nights by watching various anime series. I got through the first season of Assault on Titan, which was fantastic (and the dub is coming to Adult Swim next month). I followed that up with Soul Eater, which felt like it was wrapped up way too fast and had a lot of potential. Sword Art Online is the next one I've started, and it seems like a spiritual successor to .hack.

I guess I should finish up Assault on Titan. It felt like it was just turning into DBZ though. They would all just stand there and look at the monsters in the distance and talk about their feelings for three episodes inbetween anything actually happening.

I finished the book Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell and watched the movie right after that. Really enjoyed it, though from the perspective of having read the book already I can't imagine how difficult it would be to follow if you only watch the movie. It's very complex with six completely separate stories and characters that are connected only in subtle ways for the most part. I still think it was amazing and worth a try, but be prepared to think a lot, it's one of those movies that requires focus or you'll get lost really fast.

The Godfather
- (1972) - A
--> Classic.
The Kite Runner
- (2007) - A+
--> Fantastic movie, everyone should watch it.
We Bought a Zoo
- (2011) - C
--> Odd subject for a romcom movie.
The Hunger Games
- (2012) - B
--> Decent movie, but I wasn't blown away. The actual "games" weren't as exciting as all the build-up beforehand.
The Weather Man
- (2005) - B
--> Nicolas Cage plays a bit of a loser, who gets stuff thrown at him. The movie's ending was a bit too predictable.
Mission: Impossible
- (1996) - B
--> The computer room scene is the best part of the movie.
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol
- (2011) - A
--> I like this one a lot better than the original movie. Many great scenes.
Skyfall
- (2012) - B-
--> Considering all the talk about this movie, I was a bit dissapointed. The final 30 minutes has far too much dull action, and then the movie is suddenly over. Granted, I missed the first 40 minutes of the movie.
Top Gun
- (1986) - C+
--> Some good scenes, a lot of stupid scenes too.
The Young Victoria
- (2009) - B
--> Not a bad period film. I've seen this one before.
Cellular
- (2004) - B-
--> Decent thriller, but a lot of it was really predictable.

Surprised you gave Weather Man and Mission Impossible the same grade, and Skyfall a worse one. Weather Man was fairly predictable and one of Cage's worse outings IMO. Of course, that may have been amplified by the fact that I saw Wicker Man around the same time.
