First, I am in no way connected to this project (other than just ordering my CIB copy.)

Assimilate is a new homebrew release that is shipping on 3/17 and is currently taking orders now. Looks cool, RetroZone is making the carts (so no donors were harmed), and it looks fun. Take a look: http://nessylum.wordpress.com/

Does look cool. I especially like the Godzilla boss. Unfortunately I'll probably have this on the backburner until its super hard to find. Let me know what you think when you get it. Looks like they went all out with the packaging.

Sure, why wouldn't you want to wait and pay through the nose? LOL

lol, just trying to stay focused on my collecting goals. I tend to get sidetracked enough as it is. New NES releases are tempting though....

Plus the more you pay for a game the more you appreciate it, right?

Or, the more that you learn to hate yourself for picking it up in the first place when it's horrible to play. Grin

Holy shit, this looks incredibly bad ass.  It looks like the CIB version is on back order, but as soon as it's available I'm all over it.

I'm pretty sure that the guy selling them said that if you want a box you can order the one without and email him to change it to CIB. He just needs to know to order one past his initial run. I'd email him to check though.

That is really cool.  I loooove homebrew.  How do you track homebrew, Duke.Togo?  Do you have a central website or do you just happen across them?

I heard about this one on Nintendo Age. There is a Kaboom! remake for NES in progress called BOOM! that is on it's way, and Battle Kid 2 is coming too. I'd say both NESDev and Nintendo Age are good places to read if you want to keep up with them for NES.

I just pre-ordered this game, and I'm also eagerly awaiting Battle Kid 2 Smiley

I'm trying to keep an eye on the Action 53 development on NESDev. I'm curious if it will ever make it to completion. I'd love to find someone selling a copy of the Garage Cart or Kitty's Catch for a reasonable price.

I got mine today. Everything was well done, and I got a chance to play the game for a little while. It is a fun little game that has that "one-more-time" factor of early arcade games. I'm not terribly good at it (couldn't get past level 2), but I had fun and the mechanics are easy to learn. The game has a great sense of humor and the manual has some good laughs in it. For those that missed out, I'd recommend picking it up if he does another run.

Also, included inside was an insert advertising a new homebrew game that is coming soon from RetroZone entitled "Nomolos: Storming the Catsle". I'm glad to see NES game development gaining steam.

Nomolos looks pretty cool too.

I love the intentional bad "translations" in Assimilate.
