It could be pretty awesome. I absolutely loved the controls for MPH and found them much easier to use than most console controls (this was really apparent when sniping). So... I'm for this.

Works for me.
I even tried it twice.
I blame you!

If you can't get it to work for whatever reason.
Go to ign search Halo filter for DS(the option is right on the right hand side.)

Also halo Combat Evolved on PS2
http://ps2.ign.com/objects/014/014552.html

"A sci-fi shooter that takes place on a mysterious alien ring world, Halo: Combat Evolved is an action-packed experience that allows players to battle their enemies on foot and in vehicles with alien and human weaponry. The production of Halo has a long and tumultuous history. The title was originally designed as a breakthrough game for Apple's Mac systems, and console versions of the game also became a high-priority project for the development team when it signed with Take-Two. As all PlayStation 2 owners are aware, however, production on Halo was shifted immediately to an Xbox version in 2000 when Take-Two Interactive sold its 20% share of developer Bungie to Microsoft. Thereby solidifying Halo's position as an Xbox and PC exclusive (with a Mac port much, much later on) forever."

Some interesting hostory i never knew.

Thanks for posting the original vid cobra!

I had no idea Halo was first going to be a PS2 title either!

The DS game looks quite nice.

Sorry to brake your thunder...but that's just a hack. It was evident that some guy modified the game from "Golden Eye: Rogue Agent" from some guy on Youtube. I do agree it is cool and it would be a good idea for a DS game, but I guess we have to wait until that new FPS game (Moon?) comes out on the DS

I'm surprised this story isn't more well known, it was the top gaming news story for a while two years or so ago.

Also I believe an issue of perhaps EGM (?) had a screenshot of the original PS2 version of Halo in a preview section many years ago, before the Xbox came out maybe.

Moon on the DS has been out for over 2 months now. Wink

I had heard the shorter version of how Bungie was working on a Mac exclusive to try and become its killer app to bring more dominant gaming back to the Mac. So the outcome in the end is a real twist. I did not know about the PS2 version or that Take-Two was responsible for it all happening however.
