I will smoke when I drink, but only occasionally.  I usually end up buying my own pack and finishing it within the same night.

Haven't smoked anything but the occasional Cuban I can get my hands on for about a year. Roommates smoke sheisha out of a hookah fairly religiously, but it really fucks me up so I don't do it. Fuckin' nicotine rips me up.

I quit smoking but have nothing against smokers. Sometimes I feel like a smoke but never end up buying any because the smallest pack you can buy (where I live) is a pack of 20. I wish places would sell singles so I could just have a single smoke once every now and then.

I don't smoke and can't even stand next to a smoker. But anyway, if you like to smoke, enjoy the lung cancer that will slowly kill you laugh

Wasn't there some big anti-smoking thing in Brazil where they really emphasized how smoking can lead to impotence?

I thought they had 10 packs in Japan? (Assuming you are actually in Japan)

Italy has 10 packs. The only places i have heard of where you can still buy singles were India and from random person on the street.

It's true, I have seen them before but they are aimed at women with their sissy packaging and are almost always menthols. But 10 is still far too many when all I want is one.

I have heard of bars that have free smokes but I am yet to actually find one. And yes, I do really live in Japan.

This is true. One of my clanmates studied abroad in Japan and wouldn't shut up about it.

Yeah, like sirpsycho said, there are all-you-can-drink places, but there is always a time limit. $25 (US$) for an hour and a half is probably the most common deal. While most Japanese see this as a convenient and hassle free way to have a few drinks, most foreigners see it  more like a challenge.

Another thing is that you have to order the drinks and the waitress brings them to you. If it they think you are drinking too much and they will not make a profit (or you are getting too drunk and rowdy), they stagger the orders so the drinks take longer. That said and all things considered it's still a pretty good deal.

Also I live in Osaka

Also I live in Osaka

Ah yes, the city with a highway off-ramp going right through an office building.

That's some creative problem-solving right there.
