Hey ya'll, so next week I'm probably gonna end up with a Sega Saturn, and I wanted some input on what games are good. Anyone have games they'd like to recommend? I like action games, side scrollers, fighters, shmups, whatever, as long as it's good.

Hopefully you can pick it up cheaper than that. The good Saturn games can be a bit pricey. Other good Saturn exclusives I'm pretty sure the US got would be Fighters Megamix, Dragon Force, Saturn Bomberman, Nights, Last Bronx, Die Hard Arcade, Burning Rangers, Panzer Dragoon Trilogy and Astal.

I guess you can either take or leave Astal, personally I really like this 2D platformer.

Sega Rally Championship and Virtua Fighter 2 are my favourite Saturn games.

Bust a move 2 arcade edition is really fun, and I grabbed my copy from a game store of all places for only $5.

Oh, I'm also open to imports as well since the Japanese Saturn lineup is way better than the US lineup.

Two more local ones for you:
Christmas Nights
Virtual-On

If you are after Jap games here is my list of recommendations I think you will like:

Akumajo Dracula X
Bulk Slash
Dead or Alive (actual arcade port, not the 2D backdrop PS1 remake)
Daytona USA - Circuit Edition (is like Daytona USA + Daytona CCE in one)
Elevator Action Returns
Goiken Muyou (plays like Virtua Fighter meets Dead or Alive)
Gunbird
Groove On Fight
The King of Fighters '97
Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
Radiant Silvergun
Street Fighter Zero 3 (perfect port, even better than the DC version)
X-Men vs. Street Fighter
Pocket Fighter

Seems like most people already recommended what I was going to... but I'll just jump in anyway.

Guardian Heroes is supposedly the ultimate beat-em up. NIGHTS receives unanimous praise. Radiant Silvergun is a SHMUP that is by Treasure and many argue it is better than Ikuruga. Panzer Dragoon Saga has consistently received fantastic reviews, though it is most likely the most expensive. Akumajo Dracula X is Rondo of Blood which is a lot of Castlevania fans' favorite Classicvania. Saturn Bomberman is also praised by fans of the series as the best entry. And of course there are a good deal of good 2d fighting games.

In all honesty I don't know much about the Saturn, those are the things that stick out in my mind though. I'm sure there are a great deal of other solid titles as well.

I loved Lost Vikings: Norse by Norsewest. If you can find a copy of that one, and enjoy puzzle/platforming, you will probably like this one a lot. The voice acting is pretty funny too.

Seriously. Die Hard Arcade is the essential Beat Em Up on the Saturn. Fun as hell you can beat the game pretty easily and play through again trying to do new moves and figure out how to arrest the bad guys, etc. Its awesome.
