Which works best for you?

I'm better off with Turn-based. I like being able to take my time to set up things the way I like it, be able to look around and see what the opposition is doing, and not have to rush things in-game.

I'm not opposed to trying more Real Time, but for now I'm happy with Turn-based.

Real-Time Strategy for me. I have some very fond memories of Age of Empires II and Warcraft II. Smiley

Nothing wrong with Turn-based Strategy though. Wink

I prefer turn based, but I can play real time as well.

I voted turn based because Civilisation is the strategy game I've put most time into, so I've become used to that style. However, Sim City is real time and it works very well like that. The good thing about Sim City 4 (I think, haven't played it for a long time) is you can make changes while time is paused, so it almost becomes turn based if you want.

I voted Real Time as that is what I've played the most. I don't dislike Turn Based though, I just slightly prefer Real Time.

Real time for me. I still respect turn based but I prefer more fast paced games. Also one's where I have to think quickly on my feet.

Real-time, except when it's a Total War game, then both.

I get pwned even by the CPU when playing RTS games.  I just have never been able to get the hang of fast paced environment , especially when it comes to multi-tasking.  I just end up frustrated, and quit early on, so I've missed out on some of the great PC classics (Starcraft, Age of Empires, Warcraft, ect).  I'll stick to the turn based affairs where I have time to plan my next move.

I'm going to say real-time in the past I have spent a lot of time on AoE, it can feel rushed at times but I don't mind it. I tried the DS version my first turn based game I spent time on. For me, it was too slow, thinking about what to do, doing it then waiting for the CPU to do it. If I started off on something turn based it may have even been the other way round.
