I got an NES, at last! It wasn't a steal, but at £16 I'm happy. My only other options were ebay, £25-£30 for a loose one, or Gamestation, £35 for a loose one. It worked fine first time with TMHT. But then I tried it again and I can't get TMHT to work at all. My other five games work without any problems. I've opened the cartridge up and given the contacts a good scrub, but that didn't work. Huh Strange... (Edit: Forget that, it's working now.)

I also got Streets of Rage 2 from the same person, Cauterize, for £5.50.

While I'm here: From eBay came Sub Terrania for the Genesis. I seem to remember someone saying it's a crap game but I like it.

I'm waiting for a Sonic 3 guide book. I read through the auction a few times before bidding (which ended up being in the last 6 seconds) but I completely missed the bit that said "Will send out within four days". Oh well, it was there, so I can't complain.  Tongue It just means a bit of a longer wait.

I think they're as common as any other cheat device. IIRC, they were made by a British company, so they're probably more common in Britain than in America.

Sonic - 50p
Xbox magazines - 10 for £2
The New Zealand Story, Bubble Bobble, The Legend of Zelda, and Megaman X2 were all £4 each. The guy wouldn't budge because he was "selling them for someone else".

Shadow of the Colossus is now a Greatest Hits title. I picked up a copy today at Target. They still had a couple left in the non Greatest Hits packaging.

I went to two car boot sales this morning. They were both much bigger than usual.

The first one must have had around 200-300 sellers.  I didn't get much but it wasn't a complete waste. I got Tomb Raider: Legend for the Xbox for £5 (Looks brand new). A green N64 controller for £1, and a little Sonic figure for 20p. I don't know how I managed to spot Sonic. I was walking past a stall with no games, and nothing game related but somehow it caught my eye.

The £4-a-game man I said about before was there. He wanted £25 each for his consoles. A beat up NES with skidmarks on it, a Mega Drive, a Saturn, a Dreamcast, and a PS1, all loose. He's clearly just buying games cheap and reselling them but obviously doesn't know their values.

At the second car boot sale, all I got was Chuck Rock for the Game Gear for 50p. With the entry fee it ended up being £1.

Someone wanted £15 for a Gameboy Pocket with a carry case. Somehow they sold it just as I was going to ask the price. I overheard them say they couldn't possibly go under £15.

Someone else was selling loads of modern games and a few older ones. I either had the new ones, or they weren't interesting. They also wanted £20 for a PSOne and £25 for a loose Pokemon N64.

I spotted a solitary N64 game I sort of wanted. But it had chewing gum and writing all over it. The guy wanted £4 but wouldn't go lower than £3. I could cope with the writing, but the chewing gum put me right off.

People in my area seem to think their crap is worth more than it is.

Yes it is the NES version, unfortunately no box. It's in really good condition.
