Hey another attic "find" for me!  I came across a couple Nintendo Powers from the SNES years, A few Nintendo Game Players Encyclopedias that I got from the dollar store 10 or so years ago, and the official Nintendo Game Boy Players Guide.  I really like the Game Boy guide.

Today was a pretty good day at the local thrift stores.
NES PowerSet, boxed only missing the game - $6
N64 Console, Black w/ p/s - $5
N64 Super Mario 64, Loose - 25 cents
N64 Madden 2002, Loose - 75 cents
Genesis Lion King, CIB, - $1
Genesis Frogger, Loose, 75 cents
Tomy Pac-Mac Game - 25 cents
Misc issues of Nintendo Power & Fun Club News from 1988 - 12 cents each
Nintendo A sneak peak at Pokemon VHS - 50 cents
MB Centipede Board Game - 50 cents
I also stopped at TRU to see what was left at 90% off and got
DC NFL 2K2 - $2
DC NBA 2K2 - $1
On the non-gameing side I got a Turbo Board for an Amiga 1200 for $5 (which is real good cause I have seen them on ebay for $150)
Must be the luck of the Irish!

Cool finds, especially at those prices. How many Nintendo Power issues did you get? I probably would've gotten every one they had at that price. There was a local flea market vendor that used to have huge stacks of old video games - probably hundreds of them. I think they were between 25 and 50 cents a piece. When I first started collecting I pretty much had no interest in them so I didn't buy them. Then one day I realized why I should buy them, and went back. They told me they had thrown them ALL away just about two days earlier. I still kick myself (and them) over that to this day.

A year or two ago, my local Wal-Mart somehow ended up with Mario Paint strategy guides for sale in their electronics section for $3, so I grabbed one. They must have been in the back somewhere.

Yesterday picked up 3 XBox games: Top Spin, Timesplitters 2, and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance at GameSpot as part of their buy 2 used, get 1 free deal. TopSpin and TS2 were complete. $29 total.
The deal is still going on.

Today at Goodwill I found Robocop for NES in the box w/instructions, slip, and stryrofoam for $5. I don't care if it's only worth $4, it's my first boxed NES game, and that's exciting to me.

$5 bucks is a good price for any complete game. Even stuff like Duck Hunt or Super Mario Bros. Yeah those games are dirt common and considered pretty worthless among collectors but how often do those turn up complete?

Very true. It's funny, from the back it looked like a PC game, but I looked at it anyway, and when it turned out to be an NES game, I had to control my glee. The only problem with it is there's some slight discoloration on the cart itself, but that's not that big of a deal.
