Even though the particular Goodwill I went to today tends to have truly extortionate asking prices for its used video games, I decided to give it a shot anyway.

I came away nearly doubling my Sega Saturn collection. Sadly, of the eight titles I selected, they had the discs for only five of them in the counter binder:

- Blazing Dragons
- Defcon 5
- Sky Target
- Solar Eclipse
- Dark Savior

Fortunately, they were all in pretty good condition, and I figured were a reasonable buy at $3.19 a pop.

Now I have a reason to spend some quality time with my Saturn after neglecting it for so long.

I also grabbed Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker ($3.19), and a GBA SP headphone adapter jack ($0.79).

Hey, wait a minute! that powder-blue rectangular dealie at the top of the pic... could it be?

That's right, kiddies-- several months after this tragic occurrence...

WHY, GOD, WHYYYY?! *SOB*

... I have a pearl-blue GBA SP back in my arsenal!

Happy days are here again!

BTW if anybody is looking for spare parts for their own GBA SP, please let me know...  Wink

Oh, I almost forgot: I also received a $25 GameStop gift card from an online rewards-points program I belong to. Now I gotta figure out what to spend it on. I'm leaning between a 3DS title, or some Skylanders figures...

Zag, two things:
1) I'll take the empty boxes if you go back to Goodwill, especially if the cases aren't cracked. What were they?
2) I own a store display stand for a Pearl Blue GBA SP, if you'd like to put your newly resurrected GBA SP on a pedestal for all to admire. Grin

2 more CIB 32X games and the missing paper from my NFL QB Club!  8 CIBs and 1 manual to go!

Also, a very special item, my first repro.  Extra special because I edited the rom myself  and helped design the cover from scratch with djshok over on SegaAge who is more amazing in photoshop than I will ever be.  Since the ROM is based on NHL 94, we used the rear cover from the original as a guide for the new rear cover.

Very cool Bil! I didn't know you were into ROM hacking. Oh, and nice grab on Space Harrier. I've always been a fan of that series.

This is my first try with a ROM hack.  I spent a few hours learning basic hex editing and some graphics work in Tile Molester.  I've always loved Space Harrier too!

Zag, two things:
1) I'll take the empty boxes if you go back to Goodwill, especially if the cases aren't cracked. What were they?

Virtua Cop 2 (Die Hard Arcade was in its binder spot instead), Bust-A-Move 3 (don't remember what game was taking its place), and Command & Conquer (missing a disc).

I actually did a little swap-out of the broken front covers of the ones I eventually bought with the various Saturn sports titles on the shelf.

I'll be sure to keep you in mind if I ever come across any Saturn or Sega-CD cases in the future.

Sadly, I doubt I'll be going back to that particular Goodwill any time soon, due to their (usually) crack-smoking asking prices for games.

Well, if you're in the market for a, er, slightly used pearl blue GBA SP, mebbe we could cut some sorta deal.  Wink

BTW would you mind posting a pic of it? I'm curious to see what it looks like.

Speaking of pics:

Today's grabs put my game collection past the millennium mark.

For $3.49 each (all CIB):

- ESWAT: City Under Siege (S Gen)

- No Escape (S Gen)

- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time / OoT Master Quest (GC)

Also of note:

- Pandemonium! (PS1, sealed) $2.49

- Super Game Boy cart $1.99

And, since I didn't yet have one in my arsenal, I picked up a Nerf FuryFire blaster for $2.49. Yeah, I know: as the Kacho would say, it has nothin' to do with games. But so what! What are ya gonna do about it, huh? Don't make me put a cap in your sorry--
