Probably my last find of 2008. I picked up a few long box PSX games at Half Price books for $1.98 each.

Ridge Racer
Demolition Derby
Cyber Speed

I just got Spore Creatures (DS) from my Uncle for Christmas.  This is probably my last game for 2008, which puts me at 484 games.  I kinda wanted to break 500, but I'm close enough Tongue

Found another store to go to.  Ridiculously low prices on most things compared to where I usually go!  Plus they were having a sale (buy 4 get one free) so I got some free stuff!

NES:
Balloon Fight - $10
Galaxy 5000 - $4

SNES:
Axelay - $7
Sim City - $2

Genesis:
Shinobi III - $2
Super Monaco GP - $2

TG16:
Keith Courage (complete!) - $2

Game Boy:
Donkey Kong Land III - $7
Zelda: Link's Awakening DX - $10

Game Gear:
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine - FREE!
Sonic Triple Trouble - FREE!

The Game Gear purchases are the first games I've bought for the system since I bought it in 2000.  I'm surprised it took this long as I've wanted more games for it ever since...

Plus, I should be getting a rather large package in the mail within a week or two containing a NES and SNES with several games for each (only games I'm certain of are NES Dr. Mario, Contra, and Tetris) because I met up with some family I haven't seen in literally years yesterday and my uncle, upon learning about my interest in collecting, remembered that he had them shoved in a closet somewhere.  He hasn't played them in years so he offered to mail everything to me when he got home.  I already have a NES so my brother will get to have one of his own (and any duplicate games) and I will get my own SNES because the one we have is technically my brother's.  w00t!!

Maybe someone can help me!!!  I submitted a Title change for the Socket game b/c in our database it is stated Socket: Time Dominator ( I know there is a Japanese version of the game called Time Dominator ) BUT The Sega Genesis version is just Socket.  No where on the Box, Game, or Instr. does it say Time Dominator.  And my submission was denied.

Can someone please help me to understand.

Regarding Socket, you're the one who is right.

Indeed the US version is ONLY known as Socket.  The closest to a mention of "time dominator" in that version is the scrolling clocks background on the title screen.  And the Japanese version is known as "Time Dominator 1st" and makes no reference to Socket at all (except on an emulator, where the ROM header is Socket on both versions for some reason).

I would say you are correct. The only reference I can find to it being called "Socket: Time Dominator" is on Wikipedia; IGN, DP, MobyGames, etc. all call it "Socket".
Submit it again, and I'll approve it. You can put "Socket: Time Dominator" as an alternative title.

My apologies, I meant to get back to you via PM but I got distracted. Tongue

I was going to ask you if you'd kindly do a page edit and add the existing name under trivia while you fixed the title and maybe added a related game ID. I wouldn't consider that name an alternate title either as it doesn't show anywhere on the NTSC version but it does make for an interesting trivia tidbit and a related Japanese game.

It would look good for the game page and possibly prevent someone from doing a reverse page edit and waste their time.

PS2:

SMT: Persona 3 - €34.95 - new

I'm quite pleased with this. It's the first time I saw it in a store here, so I didn't think twice. Also, I got a coupon (is that the right word?) of €30 of that store for New Year so it only cost me €4.95. Smiley

Picked up God Hand for $10 new yesterday, always wanted to give it a try and this was the first time I'd seen it for under $20.
