It was a bad weekend for me at the yard sales. Everything I found was overpriced. The only thing I picked up was Tomb Raider 2 and 3 with the guide for 3. Both games were complete and for PS1. Total cost $4.

Another good day at the flea market Smiley

PS2 - model 30001 - $5
Midnight Club 2 was chillin inside the disc tray

PS - model 7501- $.25
2 PS power cables - $.50
Desert Strike Return to the Gulf (CIB Genesis, came in a cardboard box.  Is this called a "long box"?) - $.25

My dad picked up an Oddessy 2 CIB w/ 8 games, all CIB - $15

I tested the PS2, and it only seems to play Midnight Club 2, even though its pretty scratched.  Even then, it still took like 2 minutes to actually start the game.  Hopefully the lens is just a little dirty.

My dad called me at work about the Oddessy, and he only mentioned the console itself.  He said it was $15, so I told him to pass it.  I came home to find all the games and unit boxed, and my dad talked him down to $10.  Poop.

Pretty awesome about the Odyssey Smiley

To clean the PS2 you can just try a cleaning disk; if that doesn't work you'd have to open the unit and clean the lens manually. Smiley

I hate cleaning disks. Just open the ps2, dip a q tip in rubbing alcohol, and rub clockwise. Change q tip, rub anticlockwise. Repeat 1-3 times. Then you are done. Tongue Cheesy

Hopefully that will work.  I haven't heard nearly as many problems with PS2s having disk read error as I have with Xbox.  I tried that technique with the Xbox, but to no avail Sad, so I'm selling it to my friend for $15 today.

The PS2 was just dirty, so, hopefully that is the problem.

Yeah, when I got my 2 free ps2s (Older thread), both were botched up. Both had disk tray issues, and one laser issues. I got both working, but alas... One, I accidentally brushed one of the small wires on the laser, causing it to break. Whoops...  Angry

The other one works fine, but the power light doesn't work. I need a new button assembly and a new disk tray, because the disk tray is cracked and missing the front.  evilsad  Shocked Cool Tongue Roll Eyes

Picked up today from Half Price Books:

Gradius III & IV (CIB, PS2) - $15
Qix Neo (Sealed, PS1) - $1.98

I was pretty excited about Qix Neo. I thought it was more rare than it was. Oh well.

Yeah Half Price Books have some really odd pricing structures sometimes.

Later today I will have pics up of one of my best finds yet.
