did a little trash picking yesterday morning and found an Atari 800 computer. I tested it and it works perfectly. As a bonus it had a Centipede cartridge in it.

I found one of my 2 6-switch Ataris in the trash while I was at college. The system was a bit dirty, but nothing a little elbow grease and some Q-tips couldn't take care of. There was also a decent sized metal case (like an over-sized lunch box, I guess) filled with controllers, games and hookups. The only garbage system I have found to date,.

Been a long time since I dropped something over here...but had a nice "score" last weekend.

NES Spanish version with all cables
NES with all cables
NES Pistol
16 NES Games with 8 Dust sleves or something

Paid 20 Euros...approximately 24 dollars!
Also bought some SEGA stuff over there so I ended up with one big ass plastic bag, completely filled to the top!

very nice. I'm not sure why but I REALLY want McDonalds Treasure Land Adventure too.

Thanks.  SInce reading that it was hard to find and developed by Treasure, I've wanted to check it out.

Got these on Saturday:

NES:
Castlevania (cart only) - $5
Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off-Road (cart only) - $2.50
Tecmo NBA Basketball (cart only) - $1

I don't usually pay $5 for NES games, but since Castlevania is an A-list NES title and it was the last one I didn't have on the system, I figured what the hell.

Got some genesis games today. All were $2 each, and are minty and complete, some with posters and many with the original receipts with the previous owners name (and credit card number...)

Passed up the boxed system they had there, $39.

Those are some good games. Don't blame you on passing on the system.

Teeheehee. It's 2 in the morning, just got back from work and decided to browse Ebay, and I find this...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RAR...12742QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

...suffice to say I've just got it bought pretty quick and didn't make a best offer. It wasn't gonna be around long enough for the buyer to respond!

Do you know the rarity difference between the US and the PAL one? I remember seeing one for over $150 BIN, which convinced me to buy the US one at $15 when I saw it (still a good deal). The seller of the PAL one might have been crazy though.

I can only assume that the PAL version is much rarer, not really unsurprising as the NES came out a couple of years later in  the UK than the US and by this stage Mario Bros was starting to look quite dated. Plus I assume that in the UK both Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros were launch carts so fewer people would have bought the non super version.

AFAIK the PAL version is worth around £30 - 50 CIB. ($60 - $100).  I think I'm gonna hang onto it though, it's one of the rarer Pal UKV games CIB. The last one I saw on ebay was a cart only which had a BIN of £34.99  ($70)! Dunno if it sold or not.

I never knew that the UK version was so rare.  The German and other PAL-B versions seem to be more common, especially since Germany, Italy, and possibly Spain I think received a "Classic Serie" re-release of the original Mario Bros game.  I think there they sell for around 10-20 euro CIB IIRC.

Sticking to this thread, quite a lot of good stuff arrived in the last two weeks, largely also thanks to Scott (Tynstar)!!  He's been holding onto a whole lot of stuff for me for the past year or two that had slowly been accumulating -- thanks a ton man!  I've honestly lost track of exactly which NES games I received recently, but I took a pic of the NES accessories as it's been a while since I've had this many accessories to add to my collection:

The Stereo Sound zapper-clone has a built-in speaker that makes a shooting sound when the trigger is pulled, which is pretty cool Wink

Thanks, the zapper-clone doesn't have any built-in games.  I'm pretty sure it's from before the release of the NES-on-a-chip clones.  I'm definitely happy with the UFO controller, and I wouldn't have been able to get my hands on it if it wasn't for Scott -- I owe him big time!!
