Seeing just how expensive those official GameCube Component cables are, I think I had an excellent price on the next best thing. The Component hook-up for a GameCube isn't exactly convenient either, because the Digital port only carries the video. You still need a seperate cable that plugs in the Analog port for the audio.
Also, I'd like to point out that NTSC and Japanese GameCubes do
not support RGB out. Only PAL GameCubes do. So you guys either have to use Composite/S-video or spend tons of money on the real Component cables.
Check out
http://maru-chang.com/hard/dol/english.htm for more info on the cable (DOL-013). That page also says the retail price was £19.95 (which was like €25 at the time) so I really don't see how my deal was so bad.
I agree about spending money on good cables. They make a world of difference. It's no different than spending good money on audio cables for your surround sound. If you're going to spend the money on nice equipment, why do yourself a disservice by cheaping out on the accessories?
Yes exactly. Not spending money on good cables would be like buying a great car but putting moped tires on it. You'll never get the full experience.
Never had TVs where it would make any difference so the money was better spent on games/mem cards/controllers
Well if you would, you'd understand why I don't have a problem spending that much on a cable.
EDIT: Just checked my Cube. It has the Digital port.
