I highly doubt they can replicate the magic of CoD4.

Yeah, this one is developed by Treyarch, the "lesser" of the 2 CoD developing studios.

Also, it's back to WWII; which is so over-used by now it's getting almost rediculous.

I still haven't played CoD4. Undecided One of these days I'll pick up the GOTY edition.

It looks exactly like CoD4. It will probably be a fine game, just extremely similar to its predecessor, which may or may not be a good thing depending on if you're sick of 4 like I got.

Let me modify that. By all accounts it looks like CoD4 but is awful.

The demo didn't seem that bad to me. But then again, I've never played CoD4 in the first place.

I'm still predicting that CoD:WaW will get review scores mostly in the 8.5-9.0 range.

Launch trailer - pretty strange music choice for a WWII shooter...but maybe that's just me. Tongue

Is that an Alice in Chains song?! What the hell song is it?

EDIT: Oh, and you are right. It's a terrible song choice for a game like this...

Yeah, I found it to be completely out of place. It also makes WWII seems like one mindless killing spree, which it obviously wasn't.

I find COD4 amazing. Like, O.O amazing. Pick it up, if you have the chance.

Yeah, I agree with you. They could just not set it during WWII instead of soiling the importance of what that war was all about...

Of course, that's just the vibe from the trailer. The game itself may be completely different.

I had CoD4 when it was first released. Amazed at first, satisfied for an afternoon, then bored of it by the end of the weekend. While "technically" speaking, an awesome game with fine sound/graphics and all, the experience both SP and MP left me a bit wanting. I suppose it was the lack of history behind what I was doing, or the fact that WWI and WWII has a certain romanticism and charm that we've all grown up to believe in. I find the same thing with most of the Gulf War games since the 90's as well. Blame culture and the media for that one.

I enjoyed CoD2 and 3 a lot more.
