Age of Booty was just released on XBLA.
No, it's not the latest porno from The Dark Bros., it's actually a really fun pirate ship plundering game for only 800 MS points.
The game controls are really simple, but the game is very well designed.
You and your opponents each have a pirate port that cannot be plundered or stolen. The objective on each map is to conquer the designated # of cities by doing enough damage to them with your pirate ship and capturing it's citizens (represented by a meter that slowly raises your flag). Along the way, you can upgrade your ship if you get enough loot (rum, gold, and wood) to do so back at your pirate port.
If your ship gets shot down, not to worry, you just start back at your port and get a new one (with the upgrades you've already invested).
The game plays on a hex map with many different patterns of towns to conquer, villages to plunder (you attack villages for loot only...not to turn into one of your towns), and merchant ships to sink (for even more loot...and Curses which can be set up to sabotage your opponent's ship).
It also has 4 player split screen offline and up to 8 players with system link!
AND...it has its own map editor!
All this for only 800 MS points (about $10).
We're having an offline multiplayer game night tonight, so we're going to try it out.
