Shouldn't it default to 1? It is now defaulting to zero, which is getting annoying to change.

I think it's so when someone sees it says 0, they know to change it. If they said 1 by default, people would assume that is the correct number.
At least it's not 6 like it used to be.

I literally lol'ed Cheesy

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I've had to correct those 6's alot myself. I kept thinking "Are these people stupid, why should this game have 6 carts/discs". Tongue

Atleast now I know.

The idea for setting it at "0", is that a game will have it's media format listed and assumed it means x1 or single. Pointing out the fact that every SNES game for example only has "x1 cartridges" seems a bit excessive not to mention pointless for 3/4 of the entire database. So when a game has zero it keeps the "x1" off of the page because it's not necessary.

Defaulting it at "x1" would make the assumption that every game only has one piece of media by default and require many more edits as people tend to submit missing info than to try and correct mistakes. Meaning by default, all those blank entries yet to be filled amongst the 1/4 of the database that will eventually have x2 or more would automatically have incorrect info if a multi-disc or disk game had x1 on it's game page.

Oh, I see. I thought that, according to the 'said default' on the submit info page, the default was blank, not zero. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Now, to continue changing 6es.

Now, to continue changing 6es.

I just finished that very thing. 900+ games had a 6 for a media size where they shouldn't have. Now that those are taken care of there's less than 2 dozen left and most if not all of those actually have 6 media.
