Yes, the announcement of Final Fantasy XIII's Xbox-exclusive status was more than a little surprising; after all Final Fantasy has been Sony's cash-cow for over a decade. But with once thought Xbox-exclusive Bioshock being ported to PS3, it's only a matter of time before FFXIII is put back into the hands of the Sony faithful.

So how long do you think it'll take Square-Enix to make the move?

They never said it was an Xbox exclusive. It's coming for both the PS3 and the 360 in a simultaneous release. Besides, this is the 2nd FF game on the 360, so it's not that far a stretch as a surprise. Wink

Well that's a sigh of relief for me. I wanted a PS3 but since I was under the impression it was gonna be exclusive I may have had to get a 360. Thanks for the save, bro.

I think that there will be exclusive 360 content but as has already been said the game itself isn't exclusive.

I also think that there will be exclusive content on the PS3 so that people will want to buy both copies.

Yeah, I know. Microsoft should just give up with their system there. Japan is just to stubborn to buy (in large numbers) a foreign console.

I wouldn't be so quick to proclaim the failure of Microsoft in Japan. Lots of big JRPGs are jumping platforms, we've already had Lost Odyssey as a 360 exclusive and there's Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, Star Ocean and likely some others just around the corner.  I wouldn't be surprised if there was a rise in Japanese 360 sales: we all know how they love their RPGs over there... Smiley

It's never going to match the popularity of the PS2 in Japan. But nothing can. I'm sure I read that the PS2 is still outselling the PS3 there...

If lots of Japanese developpers start to develop for the 360, then you're right, the sales will go up. All I meant was that the Japanese audience doesn't tend to buy foreign titles a lot. No harm intended though, gotta love the Japanese Smiley But just look at how poorly GTA3 did there. And that game was above average, mainly due to magazines like Famitsu pushing the game hard.

I'm pretty sure it is the same here in Australia. The PS3 hasn't done all that well, especially considering when it was launched here it cost $999

Here in Europe, the PS3 is doing well, though. We seem to like Sony alot Tongue Problem is that despite the hardware being moved, not much software is, which in return might scare of developpers from developping for the PS3. (which has already happened, actually)

Interesting that we saw a spike in 360 sales when Tales of Vesperia and Infinite Undiscovery were released as exclusives, combined with the price drop to $299.99 for the Premium console.

I wonder if FF13 software sales will balance out on both the PS3 and 360 when it comes out.

Is it still Xbox360-only for some time before it'll be released on the PS3?

Not sure. Last I knew it was a simultaneous release.
