Some Jerkface is Spamming RFG Members

Just received an email from a scammer who got my name off the rf board.  Another africa scam.  Thought I'd share with the community.  Email came as: Amanie Doudou RFgeneration Forum Member

I just got one of those African money scams in my email address by someone who claims to have found me on RFG. Has that been happening to anyone else? It was a really strange thing.

I think everyone got it. I reported the bastard to spamcop, so hopefully this doesn't happen again. The new version of the forum, whenever it comes out, will make effort to ensure that emails are encoded in a way that does not allow harvesters to get it. There's no way he / she obtained the emails manually.

My staff email addy when we were on the old server, I got dozens of these every week, I could've bumped Bill Gates down yet another notch.

On the old server, I kept getting pay pal spam mail telling me the pay pal account tied to my RFG email was marked for deleation.  After staring at it for about 5 or so minutes, I burst out laughing.  What pay pal account?  Why on earth would I tie my staff email with a pay pal account?  Specialy one I didnt even know I had!

Um... You're not supposed to be able to see other people's IP's on this site. It just says "Report to Moderator". It shows your IP to only you, and the moderators. And I highly doubt you're a mod already.  .


Quoting from the box that pops up when you press your IP:
