I picked up a copy of Myst at a garage sale today, and noticed that the company said Red Orb Entertainment instead of Broderbund. I looked them up, and it seems that they were a subdivision of Broderbund (the first six letters spelled backwords).

Anyway, I tried to submit the variation but it said it already exists. There are only 5 submissions by Red Ord Entertainment and this wasn't one of them. The game and packaging are exactly the same (don't know about the box, just got jewel case). The only difference is instead of where the Borderbound logo is on the CD and back of case there is a different logo. It also had a different release date.

I also looked up Myst for the IBM PC, and the only one listed was the Broderbund one. Should I just add a new game entry or submit it as a variant since it is the same game and same publisher (well, the subdivision of the main one)?

Thanks

Alright cool. I also noticed a few other difference on the cd itself.

Here is the original

The differences on my cd are:
- on the left where it says For 256 Color and Windows, the cd I have has 3 lines saying For 256 Colors, Windows 3.1, Windows 95
- On the right it says "For Hints and tips call: 1-900-7REDORB..."

Don't know if you need that, but figured I would mention it

The address is also the same for both discs

What the entry needs is a form of differentiation that will allow both entries to be added. Since this one has a different release year than the existing entry, it can't be listed as a variation because technically it's not. Here's an example we've run into before:

Jeopardy
Jeopardy 2001
Jeopardy 2003

Same needs to be done with yours. The original existing entry needs a page edit to add the year of release, then a new entry added with your info and the year in the title also. That way each entry can also have it's proper retail info. Wink
