I read in the newspaper the other day that a barrel of oil has dropped below $45, while it peaked at $147 in June (or was it July?).
The article also said that if China falls into the recession too, the price could go down even further to $25.

With oil prices that low, it probably won't be long before the US government is bailing out the US oil companies as well as the automobile companies and the banks.

It'd be easier to list who they're
not
bailing out.

Yeah, for some reason, it's been consistently higher here. For the longest time we had the highest prices in Ohio.
And I'm getting that price from the one station I pass consistently and it's usually at least $0.05 cheaper than every other place.

I noticed heading back to Cincinnati and subsequently Annapolis that gas was rather expensive in Eastern Ohio / PA / Mountain Country. It was interesting. I expect to pay an arm and a leg in Washington, PA again when I come home in a week and a half.

My dad just got back from Columbus and he said gas was around $1.40 there and steadily rose the farther north he went. They say gas is always more in PA, but I never buy it there and don't go often enough to know that for sure.
But "an arm and a leg"? As long as it is under $2, I say it's cheap.
