Filled up today for $3.94.
Tracked the mileage and the gallons used, and was surprised to learn that my boat gets 22.7 MPG.

James, I'd just like to say that $10 for breakfast is not a good value.

I don't think you'll do any harm while driving. Driving will do harm to you (gas prices) Cheesy Cheesy

I can't wait until I turn 15 so I can get my permit. I wish time would go faster...

Also, this is the longest thread I have ever created. Over thirty responses!! Keep it up.

The avg price of unleaded reg. went up again today to top out at $4.233. $4.50 is right around the corner, I think. Every once in a while, there are 2-5 stations selling for over $4.50. I laugh when I see them. Roll Eyes

You have to bear in mind the cost to get the base food there, with fuel prices being so high. Roll Eyes

Prices have been creeping up a penny every few days here. The local one was up to 120.9ppl. I was in town and filled up while I was there at 117.9ppl. Just around the corner, BP was 121.9ppl.

I haven't been out to check prices this weekend but Shell tanker drivers are protesting, demanding more money. I think I read they're currently paid an average of £32,000 a year and turned down a rise up to £41,500 by January 2009. Shell only makes up around 10% of UK petrol stations but people are still going to be panic buying because the media is an arsewipe.

Gas has been pretty steady for the past week. I wonder if this trend will start to slope downwards?  laugh

I think what has to be mentioned it that in England is that we get taxed twice on the fuel bought, as in fuel duty which is about 65% and then another 17.5% in value added tax (sales tax), this is what makes is so expensive here, unfortunately nether of those will go away so prices will always be artificially high.

Actually, fuel duty is a fixed amount, not a percentage. But yeah, we pay two different taxes on fuel. I think the duty is around 51 pence per litre.
