^Yeah. I need a new PC.
Even though I'm not into PC gaming, it's definitely time; it'll be 9 years old in May.
Then maybe I could go online and catch up on the Lost episodes I've missed.

Wow, another great episode, this season has been really solid. Who do you guys think that "extra" guy on the plane was, I got the distinct feeling he was there for a reason. Maybe one of Ben's men, or even Widmore's?
Also, do you think Ben fulfilled his promise to Widmore and killed Penelope? The way he was not only covered in blood but also injured, ie. wearing an arm cast, leads me to believe if he did/tried to it didn't exactly go as planned. Maybe Desmond was there and stopped him, or maybe Desmond was there, put up a fight but got killed too? Who knows, lots of new questions.

The planes pilot was the helicopter pilot who got them off the island.
As for ben i was pissed noone asked him why he was beat to hell.
Desmond will be back on the island if penny is dead.
Anyone else remember the people flashing on the island going thru debris from last nights guam flight

The extra guy in first class that also spoke with Jack at the airport? No idea who he could be. Maybe he was someone sent by Heloise from the church to balance out the flight in some way?
Good theory on Ben. I'd hope Penny would be alive and/or that Desmond was able to save her. Desmond wouldn't want to come back to the island if Ben killed her, though, unless it would align him with Charles Widmore...that would be a heckuva plot twist! Ben said he had to "tie up a loose end" with a friend...no idea if it's the Widmore angle or something else?
And what about the way Kate was so cryptic about Jack not ever mentioning Aaron? That was wierd! Maybe she gave him to the grandmother?

At first I thought that Ben might have been beaten up by Sayid, in order to get him into the custody of the marshal and on the plane, further 'recreating' the first flight. It makes sense that he would have gone after Penny though. With Desmond there, he knew she must be near.
It will be interesting to find out how Hurley A) found out about the flight, B) got out of jail, and C) knew to bring a guitar with him. I'm assuming that Charlie might have made another appearance at some point, but I doubt that he could get him out of police custody.
The extra guy, that's a tough one. I assume that he is Wimore's man, but I guess we won't find out for a bit about that one. None of them used pseudonyms when they purchased their tickets (at least, we know Jack and Hurley didn't, and there's no way Sayid could have), so if he was monitoring them (like we can assume he would have been) and saw that they all purchased tickets for the same flight, he no doubt figured this was his chance to find the island.
I'm also interested to see how/if Ben can get back to the island. That was something they made sure to stress when Ben first moved the island.
Overall, I was pretty let down with this episode. It just seemed really quickly thrown together. So much information about the Lamp Post station was freely given, and not a lot of it was explained. It seemed like merely byproduct of the storyline, like they just needed to let us know what it was in order to make the story cohesive. I wish they would have spent more time with it, since it would seem like that's a fairly important little room. Anyone who watches Lost knows that they don't just freely give out information like that, they make you work for it.
Next week looks pretty great.

Yeah that was definitely odd with Kate.. making Jack promise he'll never ask about Aaron again. I am assuming there will be an episode that will fill in all these blanks.
For Hurley, in one of the previous episodes, Ben's lawyer was working on getting Hurley off the hook and out of prison, so maybe he was successful? Still doesn't explain how Hurley knew about the flight or its intended purpose, especially since he was surprised and angered to see Ben on it.
For Sayid, why was he on the plane in custody? Even if he was legitimately apprehended, why were they transporting him to Guam of all places? My thought is it was all staged, and that he was serving a dual purpose: obviously, he was on the original flight, but he is also filling in the "fugitive" role. On the original flight, Kate was a prisoner being transported with an escort.
What are your thoughts on Frank Lapidus, was his being there just a coincidence, or was it somehow planned? I could lean either way on that one.

Why would he have staged it? He seemed pretty serious when he said he would have no part of anything Ben wanted him to do.

Regarding Sayid, the only thing I can think of is that possibly the Guam government caught up with him from his prior life as an Iraqi interrogator? Somehow, I think he's the most likely to have been a coincidence on the plane.
Lapidus is more likely to have been planned. Remember that he was working for Widmore when flew in the Science team to the island. And we know that Widmore's not going to stop his search for the island. Maybe he created his own version of Lamp Post and has an agenda for Lapidus to carry out.

Lapidus, I think, was merely a coincidence, like so many other coincidences the island has caused. He was another person that left the island, so maybe there's a reason he needs to go back.

Some good answers last night! It'll be interesting to see how Ben fits into the island now that so much has changed.
So I'm thinking Widmore is the good guy now? Seems he was the only one that talked straight with Locke.
I hope we find out more about the new group of crash victims, it seems the Hispanic(?) guy in 1st Class last week that talked to Jack at the airport is the new "leader" for this set of survivors.

US has military bases on Guam.
Assuming he was actually caught and it wasn't just a ruse.
Remember before it was Kate who was in federal custody.
The whole airport scene mimicked very closely(if not exactly) the original details from the Oceanic flight.

Last night's "Lost"...WTF!?!?!
So...let me get this straight. It seems like when Locke fixed the wheel, the following happened:
All the island party members (Jin, Sawyer, Juliet, Miles, Dan) are now permanently residing on the island from 1974 (from the last flash)-1977.
The new plane crash happens present day (2004/2005), but the island sends Jack, Kate, and Hugo back to 1977. But we haven't seen Sun and Sayid?
However, the new plane crash also sends Locke back to the island (reincarnated) in present day along with Ben and the new crash survivors (including the new Hispanic guy leader who's name escapes me now)? I'm guessing it's not 1977 because it seems that Dharma would still be around.
Holy crap! How are they going to write their way around this?
The question I have now is...is this all consistent with the canon of the 1st 4 seasons? If Ben is destined to exterminate the Dharma initiative, did James, Jin, Juliet, Dan, and Miles die in that extermination as well? And Horace is someone that showed up last season, right? Chopping wood and talking briefly with Locke from what I remember.
What happened to the scientists in 1977?
What happens with Desmond because he didn't go back?
One theory on Desmond: if he is "The Constant", then when he sailed on his own in the boat race in 2004 and accidentally came upon the island, the only way that can set the timeline right again is if he does that race again in the "new" 2004? Or is Desmond going to get a new "memory" now because of all that's happened in getting all of this straightened out?
Damn...
The writers really have their work cut out for them this season, imo.

Well, in regards to Ben exterminating Dharma, that likely will not affect Sawyer and the rest. Apparently in the next episode, we see "young Ben" again, so that means at the point in time they are at, the extermination is still several years off.
Oh, also, Locke and the plane crashed on the Hydra Station island, not the main island. Who knows whether or not the Hydra Station island was affected by the time shifting as well, maybe it is outside that sphere of influence. Like you said, who knows at this point, it's all a bit crazy!
Another point of interest, any guesses on who Amy's baby is? An interview with the actress revealed that the baby is someone of importance.. I am drawing a blank myself. Might not necessarily be a character we are familiar with I suppose..

What if she's pregnant with Ben? And dies during childbirth? Maybe Paul married her because the biological dad (Uncle Rico) was an alcoholic?
