Anyone watch the Season Finale last night?

Excellent! Not quite as awesome as last year's, but still with a lot of interesting stuff and WTF! moments. Cool
Yes, and it was amazing. I wish all the episodes were 2 hours, it makes i much easier to follow.
I'm glad they tied up a lot of loose ends and didn't raise too many more questions.

I think they rose a lot of new questions. Especially about the island itself.

***Spolier ALERT***(and sorry, but for some reason, the Spoiler blackout option won't let me use it)
What's up with Sun's relationship to Whitmore?
Where's Sayid taking Hurley?
Are we sure that no one survived the boat? (Faraday?)
What's the future hold for Desmond...and Penny?
And if Desmond is Faraday's "constant"...what does that mean now?
How does Locke get to the mainland?
How does Ben know how to get back to the island?
What's going to happen to the survivors on the island (Others and the last of the "Beach" Castaways that stayed)?
And will we ever find out about the origin of the missing giant statue that only had a foot remaining on it (on the coast of the island)?

Sun's relationship to Widmore is the island. They are both trying to get back for their own reasons.

Sayid is working with Ben, so we can assume that he broke Hurley out of the institution because of what he told Jack - they all have to go back to the island together.

Faraday wasn't on the boat, from what I remember. He was taking the raft TO the boat. I don't think he had gotten there yet, had he? The bigger question to me is whether or not Jin survived. The boat explosion was vague. It blew up from the middle, and Jin was on the end of the runway where the helicopter took off from. It's not entirely impossible that he survived and will be picked up by Faraday and the raft.

Ben always knows how to get back to the island. What will be interesting to see is if he himself can actually go back. He said that he couldn't, and the last scene of him on the island - when he was turning the wheel - was fairly emotional.

I'm sure that eventually, we'll find out the origin of that statue. We can assume, since there was nothing there, that it moved with the island. It doesn't seem like that's something that they'd just forget about. The writers seem fairly meticulous about making sure that every detail is covered, and everything that happens does so for a reason. I'm sure that sooner or later we'll find out.

I was so happy that Desmond and Penny had their reunion. That was a pretty heavy scene. Your question is valid though - what happens to them for the last 2 seasons? We already know that Ben is looking for Penny, and that he wants to kill her to get retribution for Widmore killing Alex. My guess has always been that Desmond will save her life, and that's how he'll become 'worthy' in Widmore's eyes.

I'm not convinced Jin is dead either. I think he somehow survived.

I wondered about Desmond too. I can't believe his reunion with Penny will be the last we see of him. I wonder if he's included in those who have to return to the island. Will Frank join up with Desmond and Penny to find those that got left behind?

It looks like Charlotte may be getting a bigger role. They seemed to imply that she may have been born on the Island.

I missed the episode about Alex's death and Ben's vengeance to Whitmore.  Gotta find that one! evilsad

Yeah, it's very possible that Jin survived. And you're right about Faraday, we didn't actually see him reach the boat.

Desmond's going to have to keep a low profile...and Penny's going to have to keep him secret from her father since Desmond knows so much about the island. I'm wondering if we'll see his Clairevoyance abilities again.

Good point about Charlotte. I loved that line..."Yeah. What DO I mean?" from the Asian guy (don't remember his name) when he was talking to her. And if she WAS born on the island, that means that the island itself wasn't always detrimental to pregnancy.

I'm also wondering if Locke is going to add up that Richard (the #2 to Ben in leading the Others) was the same guy that interviewed him when he was a boy.

And WTF is going on with Claire and Christian?

And will we see the Black Smoke Monster again?

Damn. Damn. Damn. 4 months to wait!  Undecided

Is Michael dead? Right before the ship exploded, Christian said "you can go now". Did that mean the Island would let him die now?

I think that Alpert will end up being a very central character over the last 2 seasons, much more-so than just being identified as the #2 to Ben. I think it's obvious that he has access to the time traveling technology on the island, as illustrated by the fact that he NEVER ages and he always seems to be around the most important characters from a very young age. I'm really, really interested in finding out more about him in the upcoming seasons.

I'm gonna put in a lot of time over at the Lostpedia to hold me over during the off season Smiley

Season 5 begins!

The ending last night left me a bit confused. Who was the woman that Ben was talking to in the church? I don't remember ever seeing her before.

Also, my DVR got buggy when I was watching it live, so I missed what happened with Hurley. Did he let himself get arrested? Did he talk to any more dead characters?

It was the woman who Desmond tried to buy the ring from after he turned the key in the hatch.

And yes, Hurley let himself get arrested.

^Buy the ring from? Was that the episode "The Constant" from early last year or a different one?

Either way, that's an interesting development.
