Check out this SoundBlaster Live! box and this SNES game, Top Gear. Notice something?

yup i own both things. the funniest thing is that the sound card is brand new and the game is about 13 years old.

I almost forgot: thanks to Izret for taking the pics.

It's not exactly the same though. Doesn't it say in a manual or something who created the box art?

No prob Dan. ya we got a good laugh out of that.
My first statement upon seeing it was "What the hell thats Top Gear"
Then we decided we must share it with the world... or RGen at least.

Maybe it is a little off in the picture but it is EXACTLY the same in real life. He doesnt have the manual (to my knowledge).

Dan can back me up on this.

OOO if you mean was has an explosion and one has fire than your right. But the car and its colorings are mirrors.

just look at the car, the spoiler has 2 supports on the left side on the snes game, and only one on the big box. After carfully looking at it, that's actually all I can find (on the car).

Damn your right. We were just to caught up in the awesomeness to notice it.
But you are correct Sir and i tip my hat to you.
*tips fake hat*
Either way it is a massively similairity. I doubt many others will think it is as cool. Me and Dan think it is becuase we spent alot of time playing that game when we were younger and it is one of my (if not the) favorite racing games.

One more thing, the sound blaster box car looks like it has flip up headlights, but there are none on the nintendo cart car.  (Well, at least thats the way it looks in the pics.)

Just  to se if we had another difference i checked the originals. The Nintendo race has the lights but the lines are kinda faded.
I also noticed when looking closer the shadow across the hood is in the exact same place.
I think the image was just rehashed by the same graphics company maybe. Although i can not be sure on anything. But all they did for the sound car racer was add one arm on the spoiler, make it shiny and put an exlosion behind it instead of flames.

perhaps the same artist that did the Top Gear game was commisioned to do the Sound Blaster box and was just recycling some of his old work.

more likely it WAS ripped off and that's the reason for the subtle diffrences.

That's great, you should put it in the trivia section on the game page girl
