I just watched this movie this morning, I bought it last week.  It was pretty good, the plot was good, but parts of the end didn't make sense...

The part where the lady runs past the room and sees a guy dressed like a pig, and the other guy in a tux, and it kind of looks like the pig guy is giving the other guy a BJ.  WTF?  What was that exactly, and what does that have anything to do with the plot?

The other thing that made me wonder was the part where he's at the ball.  obviously thats significant, but how did the year suddenly go to 1921?  It even shows that picture of him at the end and it says 1921.  WTF?

Overall it was pretty good, what did you guys think? I'm reading the dead zone and the talisman by stephen king right now, and when i'm done with those I think im going to read the shining.

The Shining is not great, Nicholson's performance is INCREDIBLE and the other actors gave great performances, but that's all.

King himself said he didn't like it. Kubrick just seemed to go nuts, the movie doesn't make any sense, it's weird.

A classic, as well as one of Jack Nicholson's finest.  I haven't read the book, but the remake was terrible.

I don't remember it being all that good or bad. Just bland.
