http://imdb.com/features/rto/2008/oscars

Any thoughts? Honestly I don't have a problem with any of the nominations. Here are my predictions.

Motion Picture: No Country for Old Men or There Will Be Blood
Actor in Leading Role: Daniel Day Lewis
Actress in Leading Role: Not too sure, though I would love to see Ellen Page get it.
Actor in Supporting Role: Javier Bardem, fairly obvious choice here
Actress in Supporting Role: Once again not too sure.
Director: Either Cohen brothers or Paul Thomas Anderson, I'd be really surprised if it wasn't one of them
Best Writing for Screen: Tough call here. Probably Ratatouille.
Best Writing based on other medium: No Country for Old Men is probably the most faithful adaptation here, if that correlates to an Oscar I dunno, but that would be my best guess.
Best Achievement in Cinematography: No Country for Old Men or There Will Be Blood
Editing: Bourne Ultimatum pehaps, yeah I know that doesn't seem too likely but I dunno, underdog choice I suppose
Art Direction: Sweeney Todd or There Will be Blood
Costume Design: Sweeney Todd
Makeup: Pirates
Music: I dunno
Achievement in music written for the screen: One of the Enchanted nominations
Achievement in sound: I dunno
Sound Editing: I dunno
Visual Effects: Transformers though I don't want to see it win
Animated Feature: Ratatouille
Foreign Language film: 12
Documentary: Admittedly, I don't watch any documentaries but I'd have to say Sicko from what I've heard
Short Features: Don't care

Pretty much I expect No Country or There Will be Blood to sweep up most of the oscars. I wouldn't mind seeing Juno win a few though Smiley

Considering it's strong ties to Minnesota, and the fact that it was a great movie, I'm rooting for Juno to win as many as possible.
