I found a VHS copy of an ?episode? of:
"The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Hosted live by The Super Mario Bros. and special guest stars."

It's half horrible live action show and half horrible cartoon.

I don't know anything about the show, if it was a one time thing or flopped or what. So I thought i'd see if any of you did.

How dare you speak ill of the Super Mario Bros. show!  Captain Lou Albano is a God!  Wink

Well, not really.  The show was pretty cheesy, but I still kind of liked it.  Of course I haven't seen it since I was 11, so that might have something to do with it.

I remember watching this occasionally as a kid too.  I liked it back then, but it never did compare to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.   A while back I found some avi versions of The Super Mario Bros. Show on my PC.  There were Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros. 3 related episodes.

As for other video game cartoons, I watched Sonic the Hedgehog every day before school at about 6:00 A.M.  I also have the complete season of The Legend of Zelda.  In the first episode, Link is looking out on the castle from the high tower in the morning.  The princess comes outside onto a balcony a few levels below him, and he yells something like, "Hey, Princess!  You're looking pretty good from up here!"  She gives him a dirty look, covers herself up a bit more, and goes back inside.  I could have been reading into it, but I thought it was funny.

I watched both sonics, megaman, one of the mario series, and The Legend of Zelda.

I don't recall watching any of these when they were on. I do grab the VHS tapes when I come across them. I've got 3 or 4 of the Super Mario Bros. Show, 1 Legend of Zelda, a bunch of Sonic the Hedgehogs. Jaleel White who was Steve Urkle did Sonics voice in one series. I've also got a few other video game cartoons; Mortal Kombat, Double Dragon, Street Fighter, Fatal Fury and Tekken.

Heh.  Ever take the time to watch that Tekken video?  I have it, but I've been far too afraid to ever pop it in.

It's an animated Tekken movie.  Wouldn't you be?

I guess that is pretty scary, but whats scarier is that people outside of cinci will bother to watch the game.

Are  you talking about the Tekken anime?  Because that sucked, they didn't even have King in it.

Weird, I was looking through my closet the other day and found one of the tapes. It has a western episode on it, with everybody dressed like cowboys and riding those ostrich things.
Oh, and the live action part guest stars Sgt. Slaughter... for.. whatever.. reason.

You guys remember both Sonic shows? One was really cool and the other was extra dumb. There was a Super Mario World cartoon as well, I remember but I think it only ran for a season or so.

They have the new shows on Fox al the time. I think Nintendo and Fox might have corporate connections. Kirby, F-Zero but then there was also Sonic so maybe not.
