Stitched Panoramic Photos
«
on:
October 19, 2004, 01:24:36 PM »
This is a stitched panoramic photo of my backyard. Originally it was eight separate photos, which I stitched together. Each was 5.0 megapixels, so the original file that I have is a little over 9 MB. This one is only 1.5 MB (4000 x 1048 pixels), but that's a warning to dial-up users. Also keep in mind that this is only the second stitched panoramic photo I have ever done, so that's why you can tell some of the exposures were slightly different. I also should have taken one more picture where the garage is in the left third of the picture. Had I taken another, the break you see there wouldn't have happened. I just need a little more practice. The other two seams are because I was lazy and left the camera on auto-exposure, rather than setting it manually. I just wanted to get something done quickly to test PhotoShop's stitching abilities.
EDIT: I've included a small version so it actually displays in this thread. If you click the link or the picture, you can see the larger (but still greatly reduced) image.

Wow thats reallynice. I could only 3 spots where the images where slighly off on the zoomed in picture when i made that one bigger. If you could spare it i would recommend checking out the big one it is really a nice shot.

That's pretty awesome. It must be neat to live in such a spacious country.

Its ok. But I live 15 minutes from the nearest interstate. And it takes an hour to cut the grass, which sucks.

^ I would, but we dont have a fence around out yard, so I'd imagine that they would wonder off.
Im counting this as a photo, even though it is a series of multiple photographs and digital approximations.

Its pretty cool.  It goes from 10^23 meters to 10^-16 meters, from looking at the milky way, to our solar system, to what I think is Tallahassee, FL to a tree and the cells and atoms contained in that tree.  Check it out.

It takes three or more hours to cut our lawn, and half (or more) of our property is wooded.

And that three hours is with a 48 inch lawnmower. With a standard 21 inch (or even a tractor because of the hills and trees), I think you could cut for a month and not finish.

Thats an hour with a 60" mower, at about 7.5MPH.
And, in sharonville you live 17 miles from downtown cincinnati, and i live 8 miles from downtown cincinnati. Although I dont quite know what you were refering to when you mentioned you were in a city.

that's quite a spread Nep. I'm hoping to be able to get some property in a couple years. Still got a few bills to pay off before I can justify moving. I also want to save enough to get what I want. Right now I live in a blue collar subdivision, nothing too fancy or spacious.
