Not sure about the rest of you, but I have never really been a new years resolution kind of guy.. this year feels different though. I figure that one of these days/weeks/months/years, I need to start doing things that will benefit me in the long run. That being said, what does everyone here want to accomplish this year, outside of playing and collecting video games of course Smiley We already have a thread for that.

Here goes:

Quit drinking soda, and just eat healthier in general.
Quit smoking (and no, I don't smoke cigarettes).
Get everything but my student loans paid off.
Get a new car (an Acura SRX-S preferably).
Possibly start culinary school.
Start running.

I'm sure that there are more, but these are the few things that I have been focused on lately. What are your goals for 2008?

Something I really want to accomplish this year is to get back into shape.  I used to be in very good shape back in high school when I was on a swim team.  Then I gained about 15-20 pounds in college, and another 5 or so since leaving college.  I resolve to get more exercise in; at least 30 minutes 5x a week. (This won't be the challenge.)   What I really need to start doing is eating so much.  I cook just about all of my own meals, and I tend to make more than I should eat.

Also, something fun and interesting I am doing this year is Beer 365.  The goal of Beer 365 is to try 365 different beers in one year.
The list of beer can be found here

There are prolly more, but that's all I feel like typing up right now.

Organize my den. My things are in pretty good order, but I've got a load of paper to deal with!

Continue to eat healthy and drink the recommended daily allotment of water(I've been doing this for at least the last 2 years and want to keep it going).

Exercise at least 3x/week.

Make my condo more organized and presentable. In short...throw stuff away, donate stuff, replace what's broken, keep it clean.

I don't understand why a change of date should mean we all make false promises to ourselves. But anyway...

  • Save more money instead of spending it as soon as I get it.
  • Uhhh...
  • Lose weight, but that's cliched
  • Erm...
  • That's about it

My folks told me when I was a kid if I bite my nails I'd get worms, so never even started the habit  hmm

As for my resolution, quit (or get fired from) my job of the past almost 5 years once I've paid off my credit card. The new management and their 12 hour days and one day weekends for the past 4 weeks are killing me! insomnia

Ok, my turn:

-Sell my comic book, see how that goes. If well, make the second issue,
-Get really good marks for grade 12,
-Eat healthier,
-Get fitter (or just go to the gym more often, and do more swimming)
-Buy more SNES games
-Save up for a car
-Get my L's

Peace!

Resolution is just another name for goal and with proper goal setting skills it doesn't have to be false promises. Here is what I want to accomplish for 2008
(rough draft)

Learn to speak 6 new languages (Latin, Japanese, German, Russian, Greek, Italian)
Short term: 2 months for each language
How: Rosetta stone for 2 hours a day, everyday and last weekend of month perform an 61 hour language immersion for each month. (That is 61 hours straight with no sleep, it's fatiguing, confusing and quieting the left brain's conscious, analytical processes allowing the receptive right hemisphere absorb material subjected to it with little difficulty, like feeding an organic computer.)

Improve my speaking and singing voice.
Short Term: Monthly evaluations, gauge improvement.
How: Perform vocal exercises 20 minutes a day from set your voice free till I have the voice I want. If Tony Robbins can do it so can I.

Double my yearly earnings. (Not the best written out)
Short Term: Double the income every month
How: Find out what the wealthy members of society are reading or have written and read it. Read 52 quality money making books in the year, one hour a day, every day.. one book a week. Go to quality money making seminars and conferences. Network with the power men in area and interests . etc. etc. ... Oh most important: Implement what I learn daily in my life!

Get all two hundred points for Joist on XBL
Short term: Past ten extra levels every month.
How: Get rom and emulator. write down layout of level, activities of the enemies, master ass stomping, use the save feature of emulator to stop restarting. etc. etc. (I can only get to wave 7)

I can go on but this is the most important. I have a lot of plans for 08.

It took you 26 days to come up with that?

Anyways, I intend to read and actually finish more books that are at least somewhat educational. I feel like my development is standing still since I graduated.
