Here it is again.
KEEP IT TO 1 POST PER PERSON THIS YEAR
01/01/08
Ultimate Mortal Kombat
- DS
It actually took me much longer than i would have hoped to beat this with Scorpion... It's not 100% done but i'll complete it over the year. It is a DAMN good port!
Characters completed: Scorpion, Smoke, Sub-Zero, Classic Sub-Zero, Cyrax
04/21/08
Anubis II
- Wii
Pretty quick and simple game. Pretty much a let down. Beating it 100% the first time unlocks other modes of play but they don't count towards a new % complete amount. I played a couple of the modes on a couple stages but it was pretty much just a waste of time. There is a training stage, 4 full stages, 4 minigame stages and the final stage is the only boss which dies after being hit by 3 bombs which you have to pick up in 2 alternating positions in the room by jumping across platforms that dissapear and reappear.
?/?/08
Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
- Wii
The first was MUCH better.
?/?/08
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- Wii
Nearly completed everything. I believe i have most of the stickers and trophies beat everything with all characters except boss battles.
Melee was more fun...
10/07/08
You Have to Burn the Rope
- PC
lol that was fun!
11/17/08
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
- DS
Good game. My biggest problem is the level cap is 50. Once you reach 50(which doesn't take very long) you have to use gold to upgrade your all your stats.
11/21/08
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
- DS
Excellent game. I haven't played alot of the Castlevania games but it reminds me a lot of SotN with some extras.
Level 74(or 75 now?) 100% Map and 100% souls
11/27/08
M&Ms Break'em
- DS
The End boss was the hardest thing. All in all pretty lack luster.
11/28/08
BattleTanx: Global Assault
- N64
Pretty awful story line but playing it for nostalgias sake is generally amusing.
12/05/08
Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits
- DS
Entertaining little game. The time driller mode was more or less simple except for the final stage.
12/11/08
Dig Dug: Digging Strike
- DS
Was pretty lack luster compared to Mr. Driller actually. Though slightly more difficult.
12/31/08
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
- Wii
Beat story mode. Going to have to wait till the new year to complete the unlocked games.

Well, since most of my gaming time seems to be split between playing World of Warcraft, trying to 5 star songs on Guitar Hero 3, and playing arcade games that either have no end or that I've beaten 40 times before I may start off slow for a while. But here's what I have done:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Arcade
1/1/08
I beat this with all four turtles yesterday. I'd already beaten it with Donatello and Raphael, but I decided to beat it with all of them in the same day. Now that I've found out how to beat most of the bosses without getting hit, the only ones I have trouble with anymore are Shredder and Rocksteady. I haven't found a way to get past Rocksteady's counter yet and he's the first boss
Devil May Cry 2
Playstation 2
3/9/08
I heard all of the complaints about this game, so I wasn't expecting much when I plugged it in. It wasn't a bad game, it just paled in comparison to the first game. If this was called anything but Devil May Cry, it wouldn't have been savaged as hard as it was. I beat both discs.

12.1.08 - Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (X-box 360)
Already completed Pro Evo 6 on PS2 early in 2007. Picked it up for a couple of quid on the 360 and played through the master league and some of the other cups. Exactly the same game as the PS2 version. Graphics are slightly more polished but not really a massive technological advance. I'll keep playing through the game and finishing off the other various leagues available, will do this at my own leisure as it is time consuming and isn't worth investing that much time into one game all at once.
24.2.08 - FORZA Motorsport 2 (X-box 360)
You don't have to look much further than Gran Turismo to see where the inspiration for Forza was taken. Very similar set up and execution to the games. Endurance races are a little more forgiving with Forza. It has taken some time to complete but all races are now done and completed, all that remains is to buy all of the cars to unlock all of the achivements. This shouldn't take too long to get through. Overall a very good game which can become tedious in the latter stages as the races get longer. Online its very well set out and can be quite competitve. A very good game in all, not for the arcade race fans out there though as this may just be a little to intense.
21.3.08 - Assassins Creed (X-box 360)
Assassins Creed, a game that could have offered so much more. The graphics are amazing, probably the best on a game to date, the controls are neat and gives you a total sense of freedom. The story is also quite decent once you get into it. So whats the big problem? Repetition. Every mission is the same as the last, and believe you me, there are a lot of missions. If they could have come up with some of the orginality used in games like Grand Theft Auto. The repetition is a huge problem however. You basically have four things to do all the way through the game, climb towers, save citizens, perform mediocre sub-missions such as eavesdropping and then kill the end of level boss. The will inevitably be a sequel made to this game and when they do, the producers eally need to incorporate some originality.
8.4.08 - F.E.A.R. (X-box 360)
F.E.A.R. a horror/ first person shooter. I like this game, though it does have a few issues. The single player campaign is good, though the story is a little hard to follow. The eerie horror theme keeps you on your toes as you can travel various corridors and rooms without seeing an enemy not knowing when a group of replica soldiers will jump out at you, and when they do the battles are intense and need to be planned out well as gung-ho doesn't work here as you will get shot up. Some of the mechs during the game can be tough to beat, but once you have figured out the strategy to beating them you shouldn't have too many issues. The achivements in this game are a little unfairly distributed and could have been thought out a little better to make you want to get some of them, as you can be playing for days knowing you won't be unlocking any new gamerpoints any time soon. Multi player is also good as there are some well thought out maps that can lead to some good match ups, some issues can arrise though by some of the weapon selections as there are some severe inbalancies within the selection. Overall a good game for any shooter fans.
18.5.08 - Grand Theft Auto IV (X-box 360)
A game that really needs little introduction. The build up has been going on for years, we all knew it would be graphically astounding, the music awesome and the game play revolutionary. The first statement I can agree with, the graphics are great and probably the best yet on the current gen, the music is reasonable, though I do feel more variety could have been given, and actually more songs included as it doesn't seem to take long before you've heard everything every station has to offer, quite regularly. The gameplay is good and really couldn't be faulted, though I do feel Vice City and San Andreas were better games, basically for the shear variety in missions. Here in GTA 4 missions, when stripped back to the bare bones, are either usually kill some one or chase/ escape from some one. Again not too much problem as the story it is wrapped up in is solid and enjoyable so any repetition is easily masked. Online play, in my opinion, isn't up to much. When you eventually get connected to a server the games feel pointless and have basically been added on to continue the recent trend of online gaming. Overall though it would be difficult to fault the game too much as the shear scope of things make up from the minor short comings. Roll on the inevitable sequel as I feel all my minor gripes will have disappeared and another awesome game will appear.
7.6.08 - TMNT (X-box 360)
A very shallow game with extremely cheap and poor visuals for the 360. The game can be completed in one sitting if you are feeling that way inclined with zero difficulty bar the final game bosses, and even then you'll figure their attack patterns in no time at all. Ubisoft must have knocked this game together in a couple of months as it just doesn't feel like a proper game as there is no depth what so ever. On the other side of this however, the game feels very retro. The platforming sections are simple jump/ double jump affairs but feels quite slick (when not falling off ledges) and wouldn't be amiss on som 8 bit console. Overall if you get this game for cheap then fair enough but don't spend any considerable amount of cash on it as its over virtually as soon as it starts.
22.6.08 - Viva Pinata (X-box 360)
A strange and addictive game. It's very difficult to compare this game to any thing else I have ever played as I'm not sure it is compareable to any other game. The premise is quite simple with that you attract certain animals (or pinata) to your garden by meeting certain criteria. Once there you must breed them and then discover what else you can do with the species, before moving on. The further you get in the game the more difficult it gets to attract and breed the animals. Not very exciting, but for some reason it is compelling, chopping and changing your garden to make it more suitable to your residents. The graphics are great and suit the game perfectly. The sounds not so great but they do a job. A sequel has been promised from Rare and I will definatley be looking out for it. More of the same please.
29.6.08 - Stranglehold (X-box 360)
A third person shooter which relies heavily on slow motion and set pieces for ejoyment purposes. The controls are a little fiddly to begin with but once you've got them you tend to be OK. The game isn't very big and could be completed in one sitting if you were feeling that way inclined. I managed it in two, on the normal difficulty setting. I also played through on hard, I attempted Hard Boiled but quickly stopped as I realised it was going to be nigh on impossible, and I have enough stress without this adding to it. Online may be good but due to the fact there is absolutley no one else online it is impossible to tell. Overall a decent enough 3rd person shooter with some nice ideas, and really good graphics, could have done with a little more polish though and ironed the last few bugs out just to tighten things up.
18.8.08 Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (X-box 360)
18.10.08 Scene it! Lights, Camera, Action (X-box 360)
25.11.08 The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo Wii)
It was turning into a never ending slog to get Zelda finished, I've been playing it for nearly four months now on and off and I feel this could have had some bearing on my feelings towards the game. It took a long time in to the game before I felt as though I was enjoying it. It's very slow going initially with what you can do and the type of puzzles it throws at you, towards the end this is forgotten, but there may be some disillusion by then. The story is your usual Zelda affair if not slighly weaker than usual as the point of the game doesn't become clear until around the second half of the game. Something I also found slighlty weaker than the other Zelda games was the level of interaction and actual caring about the NPC's, you really just don't care about the majority of the characters. The interaction with the Wiimote is confusing at first as slightly complicated but by the end of the game it seems intuative and comes as second nature. Graphics and sound are great and cannot be flawed, with some classic epic Zelda scores all present and correct. Overall after a slow start I really enjoyed the game and wish I got more it it to begin with as I may have enjoyed a lot sooner.
29.11.08 Lost: Via Domus (X-box 360)
An extremely short game which was polished off it three days, only six pretty short levels which are pretty simple to walk through without too much confusion. The structure of the game remains faithful to the TV show with the levels contructed as episodes, even inclusing the "previously on Lost" at the start of each one. You play a character suffering from amnesia following the plane crash on to the island, the game is based on you curing your amnesia and escaping the island. You meet characters from the show (who don't have the actors voicing thier character models) and solve simple puzzles throughout. Graphics aren't the greatest and there aren't very many scenes or settings throughout the game. Overall not the greatest game of all time but worth a look for some easy achievements and a reasonable game to last you a few days.
14.12.08 Beyond Good and Evil (PS2)
An absolutley brilliant adventure/ 3d platform game for the PS2. The reason I got this was it was ranked so highly rated in a 100 games of all time poll, and I really didn't know too much about it. You play Jade a reporter determined to bring down the Alpha Sections who have taken control of her planet Hillys. The story is very cinematic and the way it flows ensures you keep moving forward and don't get bored with anything. There are also various mini-games strewn throughout which also keeps things interesting. The game itslef is relatively short but the substance there makes up for this. The graphics and sound are both great for a PS2 game, with the music being very atmospheric at times. Some original ideas in this game, which is a breath of fresh air in this day and age. Overall definatley worth a look and the sequel should be great.
28.12.08 Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories (PS2)
Having completed the rest of the GTA games I thought I really should complete the set and play through Vice City Stories. The game itself is extremely similar to Liberty City Stories and the original Vice City with a little bit of San Andreas mixed in as well. The story in VCS is pretty decent and easy enough to follow without getting too boring (ala GTA 4), the major flaw with this game is it bulked out by mini games such as racing, racing and then more racing. I just couldn't be bothered with it. I have done it so many times before throughout the GTA games there was just no draw pfor me to do it again. Has repetition finally taken a toll on me after so many years. Anyway if you want a cheap hit of GTA to fill a gap its worth a look, I'd just be amazed if anyone could be arsed to 100% this though.
30.12.08 Reistance: The Fall of Man (PS3)
An excellent first person shooter on the PS3. I managed to get through the game in two days, though this was down to me being off work and being able to put in quite a few hours on it, rather than the usual one or two a day I can usually get away with. The story is pretty good and I enjoyed it being based in the UK especially the inclusion of the Grimsby level. Bizzare choice of location. The levels are well constucted and there are "skills" to unlock throughout each of them, which could add addition replayability. The weapons are pretty original for a shooter and offer a real good mix by the end of the game once you have acquired them all. The graphics and music are good and couldn't be faulted, though there does seem to be some comparisons with Gears of war and Halo. Overall a good FPS which I thoroughly enjoyed and will definatley look out for the sequel.

January:
1. Call of Duty 4 - PC - An extremely short campaign that attempts to make up for its shortness with quality. Whether it does or not, I don't know. I much prefer the multiplayer, which is incredible. The campaign was alright I guess, if a bit anti-war and depressing. I think the shortness is uncalled for. I don't need a 100+ hour FPS but this game is about 3 hours. If you aren't going to be playing the multiplayer stay away as the single-player campaign is not worth the 50 bucks. Singleplayer: 7/10 Multiplayer: 10/10
2. Kane and Lynch: Dead Men - PC - I don't know how to feel about this game. I think I'll write a review on it. 5/10
April:
3. Portal - PC - Brilliant, nuff said. 10/10
4. Assassin's Creed - PC - It was aight, lacking and a bit simplistic it seems another baby step towards the awesomeness that will be the next generation. Some glitches, repetitiveness, and a lack of any reason to complete the sidequests ruin the near awesomeness. 7/10
July:
5. Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault - PC - Mixed feelings about this game. I'm not sure if it was a really good game that was hard; or if it was a really buggy game that was really buggy. Whatever the case, it was a challenge, which I realized is rare these days. As games get more cinematic they seem to get easier--stuff like recovering health in games like Halo or the CoD 2+ series. I still can't tell if it was a good game or not, it was just a fun challenge in a lineup of games that have been entirely too easy. 7/10
6. SWAT 4 - PC - Interesting and solid FPS. The whole having to act like a cop thing was kind of cool but I got tired of it about halfway through, switched to easy mode, and just had fun blasting my way through the (still challenging) single-player missions. Overall though, very solid with some really cool aspects such as the door and wall mirrors, actually competent AI, and those cool snipers you could switch over to. It was like Rainbow Six with all the planning removed. 8.5/10
August:
7. World of Warcraft - PC - As of August 15th I have officially canceled my account. It's a great addiction, and I mean great. It's fun, I had fun and God knows unless I'm deep in some relationship or in the Congo or fighting Zombies I'll go back. But I'm done for now...
November:
8. Call of Duty: World at War - PC - This game was, sadly, about the same length as CoD4. It lacks the polish that Infinity Ward gave CoD4, is slightly glitchy, but it delivers well enough in the fun department. The Russian campaign is really the highlight of the game, the Japanese portion seeming much more linear, and being downright annoying at times. All in all it is a fine game, although I would not pay $60 for it as it seems like an expansion pack for CoD4. 7.5/10
9. Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway - PC - Another short WWII FPS, albeit with a little tacticool action on the side. The gameplay and the graphics are wonderful, and I want more; but the story (not WWII, but the "squad's" story) seems extremely over dramatic. I understand that war is hell and that these men were psychologically under stress, but the game is like a damned soap opera. What's more than that, all the cut-scenes are un-skippable. It's like a bad movie with awesome action scenes, just that you control the action scenes...Whatever, I'll keep playing these games for their gameplay. 8/10
December:
10. Tomb Raider: Underworld - PC - ANOTHER short game. Probably the best Tomb Raider since II though, it is lacking as they all seem to be, but it's a step in the right direction. Amazing graphics, inane story, mediocre but entertaining gameplay...eh. 7/10
