I went to Video Games Etc. today, and spent aprox $125 on video game stuff. List as follows:

Atari 7800 w/hooks, controller, and Pole Position II - $55
Game Gear, AC Adapter, Dynamite Headdy - $40 (Headdy was $8)
Some Various Cables, an A/V Switchbox - $35
Various 2600 games, and Dig Dug for the 7800 - $20

Minus $25 Store Credit

I am very happy  Grin Grin Grin Cheesy nod Smiley

Is the 7800 considered rare at all? The store I went to only had one (which I bought), and they only had a handfull of the games. I was debating between the 7800 and Jaguar, but I went with the 7800 because it has a few more games released, and its older. Tongue

Yay Me!

I'd consider the 7800 a little bit on the rare side; they show up very often on eBay but not so much in the wild. Anyway, good to see you found one. The nice thing about the 7800 is that you can get a bunch of brand new games for not very much (and most of them are worthwhile).

Nice purchases. I sold both of my 7800s long ago, something I wish I hadn't done (to this day, they are the only consoles I have ever sold). You'll find that the backwards compatibility of the 7800 is quite handy.. that was probably my favorite feature.

Oh, and good choice getting that instead of the Jaguar. I picked up a Jaguar maybe 6 years ago and have played it like 3 times, and that's including Alien vs. Predator (which I spend far too much money on to get CIB).

Well, I returned the game gear and dynamite headdy, because the gg's sound didn't work. With the cash, I bought Star Fox, Doom, and Mortal Combat all for the SNES. Five bucks each. What sucks thogh is that the star fox pcb was loose. I had to crack the case open, pop it back into place, and tape the case back together. Oh well, I guess its an excuse to get a better one eventually. Roll Eyes

You realize that's an easy fix, right? All it involves is replacing a few capacitors on the sound board.
