I'm pissed. I was hoping to go to the Decemberists concert in Boston (I live in cincy) on April 15th, until I found out that's a weekday and I have school......@$#%

I found out this morning that Lynyrd Skynyrd is coming to the county fair later this summer. I am so happy about this, I'm going to be one of the first for tickets. I really hope they play more of their older songs than the new country stuff they've been doing lately.

With most of the original band including the lead singer being dead due to various causes over the last 30 years, you wonder how much Skynyrd is actually left in Lynyrd.  Tongue

They've still got a couple members that have been there since the beginning. But Skynyrd has always been changing members, I don't think they've had the same member for more than a year or two at a time.
As long as they play Free Bird, I'll be happy no matter who is performing Tongue

I've just got back from Australian Pink Floyd. They were brilliant like last year but we were at the very back row, on the top balcony. We could see the stage and everyone on it but only half the projection screen. The sound system was set up well. The light show was impressive. Very good over all. Cheesy Cheesy

A drunk man near us was comatose for two hours through it. No one could wake him up then when he did he got thrown out. Apparently he had gone for a meal with his wife and had "three bottles of wine". Roll Eyes

Over the last 2 or 3 weeks, I have seen:

The Crush
Casiotone for the Painfully Alone
Nada Surf
Doomtree
The Black Keys

This Wednesday is Wilco, and Friday is Sly and the Family Stone.

I've got tickets to see Judas Priest (All time favortie band) at the end of July and also tickets for Alice Cooper near the end of September. I've seen Alice in concert before but it really rocked and I get to take my wife to enjoy it with me this time.

I think Testament is opening for Priest which is mediocre since they are also touring with Iced Earth and Iron Maiden in other countires. If only one of them could have followed Priest into Canada I would throw up I'd be so excited.

I'm not sure who is opening for Alice Cooper but the last time I saw him (like 3 years ago) he was touring with a no name bar band so its possible hes doing the same since I didnt see anyone listed with him on ticketmaster.

Oh yeah, saw The New Pornographers and Okkervil River about 2 weeks ago. It was fairly awesome. I had no idea The New Pornographers could sell out venues. Anyway, what was really awesome is that Okkervil River (if you don't know is an extremely good obscure indie band) had a lot of people talking during the beginning of their show and by the end everyone was having a great time listening to their music. Really cool stuff.

I saw Okkervil River a couple years ago when the opened for The Decemberists. I liked them very much.

And yeah, The New Pornographers are a supergroup! They could sell out venues pretty much anywhere. Was Neko Case touring with them?

A couple weeks ago I went to see My Chemical Romance, Billy Talent and Drive By at the Fillmore in Detroit. We had main floor which freaked my wife out a bit. Next week I'm going to see Ministry.

Judas Priest is coming to Detroit too. Testament and Motorhead are also on the bill. I'd like to go to that one.

Yup Neko was with them. And I suppose I didn't think they'd appeal to as big of a variety of people as they do. Really good band though.

Tomorrow is the "Take Back Labor Day" concert on Harriet Island in St. Paul. Coincidentally, it happens to take place on the first night of the Republican National Convention, which will be taking place only blocks away at the Xcel Center. I have a feeling that there was some under the table work to get this one done Smiley

At any rate, Atmosphere, Mos Def, Tom Morello and Steve Earle will all be performing, and it's only $10. Should be pretty damn fun!

I've turned down about 5 offers to go to this show already.

I like Alkaline Trio, but I think I've seen them 5 times already. I have no interest at all in the rest of them, or the venue they are playing (The Myth).
