It is really neat. I wish pictures showed it better, there is nothing like seeing them in real life.

My dad got an LED TI multifunction calculator for a Christmas present way back when I was just a toddler. I recalled that some calculations took up to two seconds to process. And I think its price was in the $200 range. I'm guessing it was comparable to today's faster and cheaper TI-30 line.

I was going to make a little video of my "money manager" calculator, mostly to show it "thinking" and the time it takes. I can't seem to get it to store any numbers to do the payment calculations though. I would think this would be one of the most time consuming calculations it can preform.

It's kinda weird, the calculator works fine otherwise, so I don't know why it wouldn't store the numbers.

I did find out it was made in late '77. There is a manufacturing stamp on the back.

So, no video, sorry. It does take about 0.75 seconds to do some log and ex calculations, but that doesn't seem too exciting.

i don't know anything about old calculators but maybe it takes a battery to store the numbers?

It uses a 9v battery. You got me wondering if there was a "watch" battery or a capacitor inside. So, I took it apart for you and me.

So, no, there is no other battery inside. Still don't know why it doesn't store numbers, since there is only the IC chip, you would think it would either work or it wouldn't.

I like how the Ti logo is traced into the circuit board.

Last night I got drunk in an Irish bar in Hong Kong then rode around on a tour bus late at night. I saw the giant poo. I had seen the poo on the internet but I didn't realise it was in Hong Kong, so that was a weird and bizarre coincidence.

Also, the giant duck is here.

Hahaha i wonder where all my negative karma is coming from.(not really i have a feeling it is one person.)

I think i have only left 2 people positives for posts that were awesome. Zag you were probably one of them.
and no one negatives because that would mean i would have to dislike it enough to take action... or care enough about someone to actually take karmic against them. Neither of which have happened yet.
