7,286.27 October 9, 2002

7,305.29 June 5, 1997

These are the last 2 days since June 5th, 1997, that the market has been lower than it is right now. The DJIA closed at 7,365.67 on Friday. If it closes below 7,258.1299, it will be at an all time low from May 22, 1997, over a decade ago. October 9th, 2007 marked the highest the Dow ever closed at: 14,164.5303. As of Friday, that is a 47.9991934501351% decrease in value over the course of exactly 500 days, which is an average of 0.96% devalue every day. People who say we aren't in a depression should hang themselves. That is all.

And what did I say? Dow closed at 7,114.78 today. See http://finance.yahoo.com/...indexes-apf-14445908.html

Dynamic 2-dimensional arrays of strings are causing my brain to melt.
Arrays still make my head hurt.

I'm doing this annoying excercise:

I have an array of strings (the strings are sentences).
Then I have to put those sentences into a dynamic 2-dimensional array in which each element is a word, not a sentence.
Then I have to do some stuff with the words. Undecided

I can't seem to figure it out on my own, so I mailed my teacher about it.

I'm not sure what was more fun. Listening to the African American woman bitching about racisim because she had been there longer than other people being seen first or, the lady that thought she has lyme disease because of a bird mite infestation in her aptartment.

That looks quite painful. How did you manage to do that?

The funny thing is not two minutes before, they had made a comment about another hospital would have been a much longer wait 6 + hours. That hospital is in a predominantly black area. They had been there at least an hour longer than me, but I was a "trauma" patient.

It doesn't hurt at all unless I hit it on something. I was cutting something at work like I have done dozens of times before, but when I cut the second strap what I was holding came back at me and the knife was on the upswing from the cut. Yep, stupid move on my part.

Why are white Americans not commonly referred to as European Americans? And what if a black person is decsended from people from the Caribbean?

African American is pretty much the category for anyone in the US who is black.
There are more specific designations for other people Cuban American, Mexican American, etc
As far as white people unless your fresh from the Mother/Father land your just an American.

Also the US to my knowledge is the only country where its people do not designate themselves by their country primarily.
If you ask an american what they are they won't reply "American" they will say French, Irish, Italian, Polish, etc etc.
Unless their is some sort of united front to stand against. Like a war or terrorists or etc. Then your an American.
In texas i knew people who would say specifically they were Texan. Period, amen.

From what i have heard lately their are people who feel the same way in Alaska. They are Alaskans and only american due to some terrible extenuating circumstance.
