I woke up extra early this morning to check to see if school was closed, every public and private school in every county around me was closed, except mine
The roads weren't too bad until I got to the Youngstown city limits where the roads turned into solid ice. I still made it though.
Classes after 1PM ended up getting canceled, so I don' have my Biology Lab at least (this is the 3rd week in a row of not having it
).
When I left, the road I usually take from the parking deck has a fairly significant slope and cars were stuck on it and others were trying to go around and getting stuck. So with the horrible traction I get, I didn't even attempt the hill and went back around through the parking deck to get onto another less sloping road. Then I almost couldn't make it up the hill on my road, I was basically going 5mph the whole way up the hill.

Damn, the state of the economy has finally trickled down to me. The place where I work has had to lay off around half its employees, so there is less cleaning for me to do, so my hours are going to be cut in half. It's almost not worth the drive for only $30something but there is nothing else available out there right now.

While sledding (didn't take any gloves) I managed to slice a nice gash in the side of my right hand.
Blood on the snow looks pretty damn cool.

The snow seems long gone now but hearing stories from you guys the winter is still raging on in the US.
Winter in Western Europe is a joke, really.
Also, I changed the color balance/contrast/brightness on my avatar using GIMP so now the blacks are actually black and not the washed-out grey it used to be.

Dayton got about 10 inches of snow and Cincinnati had a level 3 snow emergency, which means that only emergency vehicles are allows out on the roads. Cincy got a layer of ice on everything, from what I've heard. Ice and hills are a lethal combination.
Also, parts of Florida dropped below freezing recently. This is a state at the same latitude as northern Algeria and Morocco. (Cincy is roughly the same latitude as Lisbon, Portugal.) But that doesn't really mean much, the Jet Stream makes sure America gets much colder weather and Europe does at the same Latitude.

We had snow for two days and it took a week to melt. It was 2-3 inches tops. It might not sound like much to you but it was quite a big deal for us here.
It melted about 3 weeks ago and it hasn't snowed since.

Sounds similar to what we got. We didn't get 10 inches though, maybe more like 6. Last night it snowed an inch or two and then this morning we had freezing rain and then it just turned into snow.
And yeah, Sirgin, winter is still raging here. I'm not sure about the rest of the country, but it's not uncommon to get snow in April here.

It looks like another big storm is heading your way on radar.

Really, another? I don't think I even noticed the first one, then.
It's clear skies and sunny right now and judging from the trees there's not much wind going on.

Looks like one large storm to your East and one coming at you from the West.

Ah, yeah it looks like it. But "storms" over here aren't that impressive, usually. We don't get hurricanes and stuff like that.
