That's so stupid! If Microsoft didn't include Internet Explorer with Windows, how would anyone be able to get access to any other browser?

Dad tripped on a manhole cover outside a shop and had to go to hospital for stitches, so I drove him there. He's not bad but it was a bit worrying because he's on blood thinners (Warfarin) so he bled quite a lot. He had stitches in his left fingers, and a few grazes on his knees and elbow.

I bought a 2 hour parking ticket and we left the hospital exactly on two hours. Weird.

That was around 5:30pm to 8:00pm.

That stinks mate, hope he'll heal up nicely with minimal scarring. Cutting yourself up like that really sucks. Undecided

I know this isn't your fault or anything, but who leaves a manhole open? It would make sense though if they had some warning signs, but still hope your dad is better.

It wasn't open. Just shoddily installed. Tongue I went up there with dad today to get some photos (He wants to sue someone Roll Eyes ) and it's the lip of the manhole that's raised above the surrounding ground. But it's only about 1cm and I don't really know how he could have tripped on it.

I know by law people are able to claim compensation if they are injured on public ground by something raised, like a wonky paving slab. But I can't remember if the maximum legal height is half an inch or one inch.
