A glass just broke while I was washing dishes.. with my hand inside of it. Scary. Luckily, I managed not to cut myself that bad. It's still bleeding like a mother.

That's always been one of my irrational fears. I guess it's not so irrational anymore.

Note to self do not punch people while washing a glass

Is the stuff in there so high-tech that they need someone to watch it?

Ah there's the occasional person. Turns out as well that there' a class taught in here from 6-9, so I get to sit in the back of the room and not do ANYTHING but sit on this comp. I LOVE GETTING PAID FOR THIS.

Basically we're here to make sure nothing happens, we're classified as IT people but we're not really required to know or do anything but tell people where to go if they need help.

Yeah, it sounds like a chill way to earn some money. Is the pay any good?

$7 an hour starting off. Not great, but that's a little less than I make for much harder work at the grocery store.

Well, considering the relaxed "work" you're doing in there, it doesn't look that bad to me. Wink

For goodness' sake. Our old dog has been having trouble getting down the back step to the hall that runs between the house and the garage, and goes to the back garden. It's about a 10" step and the poor old girl sometimes falls flat on her face jumping down it. So mum had the idea a few months ago of putting a wooden pallette on the ground there, but it was a bit too wide to swivel it flat on the ground - |/| <- like that. So I've been procrastinating and putting off sawing off a couple of inches along the length of the pallette. Mum's nagging has finally prompted me to go look at cutting it up.

Simple answer - Put the pallet vertical, across the hall. Lower it flat on the ground, then slide it under the lip on the step under the door. It's taken since September to work out how to slide it in. Undecided

Now there are two steps of half the size and the old dog is much better with it. Cheesy

Apparently there was an armed robbery at the local off-licence in December, about three quarters of a mile away. They got away with £500.

Also, a 14 year old boy in the stables behind my house got a pitchfork through his arm. It was in the local newspaper today. Someone was loading hay bales onto the tractor the boy was standing on without looking, and hit him with the fork.
