Thanksgiving is more or less american only and before it went nation wide it was pretty much strictly a new england thing. (saw a show on History about it)
Peop0le from New York didn't know what Thanksgiving was way back when.

Yeah 2nd Monday of October. It's good to break the holidays up so there's a nice long weekend nearly every month and we don't get sick of too much turkey. ![Smiley](http://www.rfgeneration.com/forum/Smileys/RFG/smiley.gif) We used to celebrate it in November as well but they separated it after WWI so Remembrance Day (Armistice Day) and Thanksgiving had their own date each year.
