While on our walk last night my Dad and I passed a house with three white teenagers out front. One was sitting on a truck, another on the porch and the last was riding a scooter around. As we walked by two, of them started saying white power. They didn't yell it, but just saying it loud enough for us to hear it. The funny thing is we're white.

Sigh... I cannot stand the amount of racism young people, including kids my age, display. It sickens me... Angry

At work today I leaned on a desk in the office to a strange sensation in my wrist. Looked to see just the plastic part of one of these:
sticking out of my skin. I hastily pulled it out and blood squirted out like a little hose. Here's to hoping I don't get tetanus Cheesy
That reminds me of when I stapled myself, twice....

It was about 5 years ago when I was playing around with a stapler (opening, closing, refilling the staples...)
Somehow I managed to close the stapler with my thumb still on the place where the paper goes. Next thing I knew, I had two staples in my thumb. Quite painful getting them out actually, they curl up under your flesh, just like they do with paper Cry

It could mean plenty of things, but normally it's "Thank God It's Friday".

^ I lol'd

There have been quite a few incidents in Independence where that kind of stuff has been written on buildings as of late. I wonder if they've moved north. At my age it's going to take a lot more than that to get a rise out of me.

I spent about $300 this week on a few new knives, a sharpening steel, and a microplane.

Pretty proud of myself for spending it on something practical and useful, rather than on video games, beer and weed.

The knives I got are GORGEOUS. The Calphalon Katana series. I'll post pictures when I receive them on Monday.

I am currently in culinary school, yes.

Actually, the knives came recommended by one of my instructors, who helped design this particular series for Calphalon. I used his 7" Nakiri one time and was hooked.

I ended up getting the 7" Nakiri, the 8" chef's knife, a 7" slicer , and a 3.5" pruner. I will probably end up getting a shorter utility knife (5 or 6") and a boning knife to complete my set.

I just got back from my friends house.  I slept over, but we didn't sleep.  we watched all of the nightmare on elm street movies, a new nightmare, and freddy vs. jason.  They were bad...the 1st and 3rd were the only one worth watching, except for the 6th cuz it had the power glove, not really.  new nightmare and freddy vs. jason were good though.

Bored at work, but watching the Thunderbirds fly around during practice for this weekends air show makes it better.

I bet. Apparently the Blue Angels fly over Annapolis every May for the Naval Academy Graduation.

The Blue Angels seemed to practice longer than these guys. Oh well, hope the weather holds for the weekend unlike last year.

That must be fun! Shocked

I thought about that for a while too, but decided I don't have enough cooking experience for it.
